I don’t like them getting attorneys but I do think they should have some kind of representation to make sure that they really are illegal. Mexico should be chaged for their representation.

Beyond that all they should get is humane treatment and speedy deportation.

The nearest Mexican consolote, or whatever it is should send the lawyers...All illegals should get attorneys from their country reps. Paid by same. MO

The Mexican Consulate is supposed to be notified to send a Mexican Lawyer to act as Co-Council for the defense next to the U.S. Defense for each defendant.

That's probably not a bad idea.

As other posters have pointed out, the day may come when YOU are accused of being an illegal immigrant. Being such is a serious crime and the burden of proof is on the government.

Once the government has met their burden, then judges should punish the criminals such that the punishment acts as a deterrent. I know I wouldn't get a free ride if I broke any of the thousands of gun laws in the U.S.

If not for the penalties ranging up to ten years in prison I would keep and bear arms as I see fit. That simply isn't practical with the legal infringements in place today.

The same should be true of the completely justified laws which protect our borders. Deterrence works. I am very angry with the government for this double standard.
