Pro-abort.
What are his politics?

This has been kicked around before. IN this thread there are links to interviews where he describes himself as a northeastern/Rockefeller Republican.
I have found that generals in politics tend to be pragmatists, and big government types. That mindset is fine for the military where you are assigned a specific, limited objective (when it is done right), not so good for civilian government.
Doesn’t excite me. Not a bad guy; decent combat leader. Still....need a red-meat Conservative; really not sure he fits that bill.
I’d need to more about him.
He’s too moderate on too many issues. IMHO, Mitt will end up picking a RINO as his VP, and it could end up being Petraeus, or Chris Christie. Governor Suzanne Martinez would be a much better VP pick, overall, and ditto, Condi Rice.
I don’t like unknowns one heartbeat from the presidency. I’d support him for Joint Chief of Staff or for Sec of Defense.
He isn’t a political conservative as far as I know.
Still, I believe war is coming like it or not. Even if Ron Paul is president, war is coming. It would probably be good to have someone in the administration who understood the military. So, while he isn’t my first choice, he would be a good man to have. Secretary of Defense or CIA Director might be better.
He’s a globalist. IOW, would fit in perfectly, either with Romney or Obama.
call me when a rugby scrummer signs up....
Obama has completely screwed the pouch with Iraq and Afghanistan, and so people don’t want to think about Iraq and Afghanistan - they just want them to go away.
Putting Petreus on the ticket just screams Iraq and Afghanistan - in my judgment, that will just turn people off, if not overtly, at least subliminally.
Preference: Allen West.
So we get GW Romney and a conservative, still the socialists in the republican party will turn us more socialist/fascist while we yell hooray we a have a conservative VP, let me send them my money ..........
Damn it is true, just like Jefferson said, “A people get the leaders they deserve”, so if we change the people we will get better leaders, the system is so corrupt it isn’t funny. We have members on the court who don’t even belive in our contitution,
Not interested in a globalist, internationalist, new world order, type.
How about Dick Cheney, since he has a new heart?
The VP would matter to me IF we have a legitimate Conservative nominee if we end up with Romney the VP won’t matter to me, I didn’t vote for McCain because of Palin but I’m glad she was on the ticket.
Anyone but Condi Rice!
Despite the last name, IMO, Jeb Bush would be the best pick for VP.
1. More than any other candidate, he’s absolutely ready to take over should the Pres. be incapacitated.
2. He was an excellent Governor.
3. His wife’s Hispanic and he speaks Spanish. The GOP needs as much of the Hispanic vote as we can get.
