Don’t mistake my post - I’m not talking about booksmarts in the way you suggest. What I’m referencing is common sense, logic and intellectual honesty. It’s sorely lacking around here as of late.
Right and you cite two foreigners.
I remember well, NittanyLion.
It’s really weird to see people have so little faith in their own convictions that they won’t even put themselves in a position to defend them.
And I’m referencing folks who actually work their way through life - not guys who spin eloquent words about us. We may not sound as pretty as Steyn but we’re the ones who are going to get the job done while Steyn writes poetic words about our role as cannon fodder. No offense to Mr. Steyn - I’ll stand with the other guys.
There’s nothing worse than an old fart claiming things were better in the old days.
There’s just as much common sense, logic and intellectual honesty at FR as there has always been. Just because you don’t like what is being said doesn’t change that.
Hitchens may or may have not been “smart” but I certainly do not think he had common sense, logic or anything close to intellectual honesty. No liberals do.
