Quix, I cannot say how many FReepers. But I can say I’ve witnessed churches torn asunder over similar political disputes. Often, it seemed as if virtually no one benefited from the process or the result of the argument.

So, yes; I’ve always sensed “something else” was going on during such church disagreements, even as a young boy, but came to understand soon that the biggest battle is for a man’s soul; definitely a spiritual battle, and the most important battle a man can face.

But I’m hopeful that things are not as bad as they seem right now on Free Republic. I really think that a few have stirred the pot (Double trouble, boil and bubble) and some will leave or drift away, as always in the past. Others may rethink their positions and quit yelling and insulting each other. Some won’t do anything to help improve the situation.

Wheat and chaff, as it’s always been.
