Well, this has been an interesting thread.
Some posters were over the top in demeaning the fearless leader, and he was a little over the top in demeaning some of us
He accused me of being pro abortion and he should have known better. Pro life issues are my main cultural cause. I even educated the people in the grocery store line where they were doing a fund raiser for breast cancer by telling them the truth about the Susan B. Anthony bunch.
I guess he got that impression because I am voting for Romney.
Pro-life is one of the main reasons I am voting for Romney, although there are many others.
We have 4 really old judges on the Supreme Court. I don’t want Obama naming replacements.
I don’t think anyone really thinks you’re pro-abortion, Altura. The thread was a long one, and it got heated. I was glad to see it cool down and become more conversational; you could feel the tension sort of draining out.
I know you and I differ on the Romney thing. I know you aren’t a huge Romney supporter, that you’re voting for him to get Obama out. I understand that. I’ve waited a long time to go into that booth and vote against him. But it’s a spiritual thing with me-—not a tantrum, not a whim. I’ve been praying about this, and I just can’t pull the lever for Romney. I hope we’ll be friends after this.

Let me get this completely straight here so we can put what you are claiming into perspective. Palin had done none of the serious things necessary to prepare for a presidential campaign. Fox News didn't think she was running for President and didn't suspend her. Palin ultimately declines to run for President. Palin offers an explanation which has nothing whatsoever to do with being "scared" of some mysterious threat. Palin then goes on to continue her job as commentator/analyst (earning her lots of money) which she uses as a platform to attack Obama and the Democrats regularly on the most popular cable news channel. And you are contending she is, well, lying about her reasons for not running. That her decision was because she was "scared" like some Dryads in a CS Lewis book. And when I try to point out that there is utterly, absolutely no evidence to support your theory and offer a more reasonable alternative for why Palin might have been hesitant to announce she wasn't running - you call me a troll. Which, by the way, is the very type of behavior and name calling that many members of FR were complaining about on this very thread.

I'm going to make this as plain as I can. Sarah Palin did not decline to run for President because she was threatened and scared. She's a big girl and a lot tougher than that. You give her very little credit here. If someone really threatened her, Palin is more likely to do just the opposite of what they were demanding. It is far more likely that you just can't accept that Palin didn't run for President when you expected her to do so, and for that to make sense in your world requires you accept or invent some silly excuse about her being "scared" of some unknown threat. You know who is actually scared? You. You are scared to accept you were wrong about Palin's intentions, and you just can't admit it to yourself or anyone else.

You didn't read my first piece (Sarah Palin in "The Undecided," or, Only Her Halibut Knows for Sure) (which I explicitly posted TO YOU on this thread) which pre-dated her withdrawal from the race, that her goal was to further the goals of the Tea Party, and at that point her decision to run would be based on what she adjudged best for the Tea Party.
My feelings about this were confirmed by the OTHER piece I posted to you on this thread, (Sarah Ringbearer, or, A Gift From Frodo) in which I said that the best thing to do on her withdrawing from the race, was not to bemoan the fact, but to take up the mantle ourselves as the grass roots.
And you are contending she is, well, lying about her reasons for not running.
She wasn't lying: she implied it was for the sake of her family, and their opinion.
As far as the evidence: I'll trust my wife's judgement over some anonymous Perry operative/troll any day. My wife noted the abrupt change in Palin's tone and body English: her confidence, ebullience, all...gone. Just like that.

I don't sound ridiculous: What IS ridiculous is your accusations against me, which have the air of desperation: the more so as they are soundly refuted by articles I posted publicly on FR, a few days before her announcement, and another one I emailed to another FReeper to post for me (I was at work) the night of her announcement.

Anyone can search back to your posting history to within a week or so of Palin's announcement where you called Palin's supporters all kinds of vile things. Or your posts where you personally mocked Palin for leaving the governorship. It looked a LOT like a victory dance -- presumably, from your subsequent support of Perry, in the vain hope that he would then sweep into the White House.
And now you show up on this thread to try to start personal attacks and flame wars once again.
(Compare that to my post #1645 this thread, which attempts to address the root cause of the problems on FR, rather than settle personal scores.)

I guess because I’ve done so much research on the Holocaust it never struck me as Abortion deaths surpassing those deaths. Maybe too because I don’t see these wee ones having a chance to fight back. ....they are in what is suppose to be the safest place within their mother, which ends up a death chamber instead.
I’ve actually stood on the main street opposing Abortion with my sign held high...and fought hard to prevent two pregnant young girls not to take the life of their babies. In the end they did...one with the Pastor of her church, and her mother, driving her to the clinic! It was a fierce battle.....a month or so later she was killed, decapitated, by an on coming car she ran into while running down an embankment....
....The other also aborted after a battle for the life of the child....thereafter she would find photos of the babies father as an infant in her car with a note:...”what could have been”....
So there is always a great deal of before and after events never anticipated surrounding these decisions and the aftermath of these killings.

mnehring, I agree and I think this is the best thread that could have been written at this stage in the game. It is time to decide what avenue Mr. Robinson wants FR to go. It is simply going to be a place for the same voice with no area for another opinion, then i guess that is what is what it will continue to be. I don’t see how that helps things just by repeating the same thing over and over again.
YOu know someone on here was talking about Reagan. And I thought how the world has changed in the time he has been in office. At that time communism was still a fighting word and it still is to me a dirty word. But now, we have a white black RED marxist phony president and no one seems to care except the ones that are middle to right. We keep expecting another Reagan and someone like that is once in a lifetime experience. I am not giving up, but by golly I am not giving money to be called names or zotted because i don’t repeat exactly what you or anyone says. It is Mr. Robinson’s project here, it really is awesome in the use of of it, there is none other like it, but my gosh. Was it REagan that said not every conservatives think alike on everything.
