I’ve heard Newt promise that, but not Romney. Can you be so sure?

When you DON”T vote for Romney....... you are voting FOR sharia law.

Yup. People don't see what's happening with the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR and Sharia law throughout the middle east.

You are right. He might bow.

If he is the R candidate, he will lose.

The thumbsuckers will never take responsibility for anything. You remember them as kids, the kid who took the ball and ran into his house when he lost. The normal kid sucked up and tried again in the next game. Those of us who are voting to throw Obama out of the White House don’t think like this. We want move our country forward, not just have a temper tantrum to punish the rest of us. I hope that the thumbsuckers are such an insignificant minority that they will have no influence. I think they fantasize about the influence they really have. They may be the true .1%ers

I don’t believe that it [Romney's] mission in life to destroy the United States.

I appreciate that you and every other Romney conservative on Free Republic (and just about everywhere else) are so reluctant. That's good.

You believe absolutely that Obama has made it his personal mission to destroy the U.S. Fine. How is Obama going about the destruction? Here's how:

1. Trying to take over virtually every personal freedom AND the markets that serve them, via nationalized health care. As most people realize, the reach certainly would go far beyond doctor visits and invade every corner of American life. Every transaction, monitored and approved by the government.

2. The same forceful control of all natural resources and AND the markets that serve them, via the ecotyranny of the global warming cap-and-trade hoax. UNDERSTAND that "responsible" liberals' only ultimate solution to this pretend-problem is global, such pretense to allow a very steel-toed boot in the door backed by other nations in the authority to squelch American energy production and market prosperity.

3. Activist liberal judicial picks, who distort and contort laws to increase government authority over every behavior.

4. Supporting and cheerleading for the homosexual agenda, which is not about bestowing rights, but deying them. The agenda increasingly has the government prohibiting Americans from peacefully turning away from all things openly homosexual. The introduction of a third emotional sexual dynamic into children's lives begins at age 12 with Gay Youth Pride. (nothing like confusing kids at a vulnerable age! *rolls eyes*) If you wanted to weaken the enemy's large and powerful military, you would cheer when you saw it increasingly "soldiered" by all-sex youths, young women, young men, young lesbians, young gay lovers. Great dynamics for an efficient fighting force, from the enemy's standpoint. Having such a nursery school faced by your own military manned by a focused all-male warrior force. where "drama" is respected as bullshit that gets you killed -- as an anemy, you gotta love the whole overturning of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

5. Most insidious and evil, abortion on demand funded by American taxpayers in a world where a 15-year-old girls might go to a judge to have her parents' refusal of consent overturned, while in other places, a whole culture of promiscuity, sloth, and abandon is made to thrive. All at the coldhearted sacrifice of millions of souls killed in the womb. It is barbaric and destructive on a thousand different levels.

I'm familiar with Obama. He's evil and destructive. Five of his most powerful objectives, listed above, are how he's doing it. I'm familiar with Mitt Romney's documented record, and know that it is philosophically and fundamentally in full accord with Obama's on the same issues.

Voting for Romney is as nuts as voting for Obama.

If it's O v R, I'm voting because it's my duty to vote. I'm voting third party so that I can do what little I can to make sure that whichever damned statist freedom-killing tyrant (there's a major risk that Romney would turn into a velvet-gloved tyrant, especially with an emasculated Republican Party where conservatives "lost") -- it is my DUTY to vote so that whicher tyrant, Obama or Romney, gets in, has the most miserable vote count IN THE END, regardless of the fact that my state, California, will probably go blue in the Presidential. TOTAL VOTE COUNT MATTERS, and if the winner enters office with the hard numbers being that THE MAJORITY VOTED AGAINST HIM, he will have a harder time of advancing his agenda whether he is Romney or whether he is Obama.

Voting for Romney is like voting to drink salt water when you're parched and adrift at sea.

I see my vote, cast for the sole purpose of creating as slim and weak a plurality possible to put the victor on as weak a political footing as possible, as voting to wait patiently and prepare and pray for the next rainstorm, and tough it out.

Stop talking sense, Jonesie. Don't you know that Obama is an All Powerful Oz whom we can't survive at any price? That making a deal with devil to avoid Obama this once wouldn't be the losing proposition it is by definition?

Get real! ;^)

Actions DO have consequences.

Yes. And the likely consequences of Romney are as chilling -- the argument is strong that they are even more chilling -- than the likely consequences of Obama facing an America where the clear majority voted against him. A nice sweet old lady liberal confessed to me this morning that she voted for Obama ... and man, what a mistake it was! People like her are legion, and if they vote against Obama (many will, especially when the Republican is fundamentally the same but "safer") and Obama wins by a plurality in the mid to upper 30 percents, he's going to have been dealt a devastating blow, and conservative's fight to preserve the Republican party as the sole vehicle for combatting liberalism and statism, will be an important battle won in a long war ahead.

What an excellent post. For example:

Same train, same destination as nobama. The work economic train wreck will continue and undoubtedly blow up on Mitten’s watch. At which time the “revolutionaries”, kids, idiots, anarchists will take to the streets and force the Mittens to be the bad guy and break up the mobs.

Same destination as nobama, just arriving a few weeks/months later.

And the mess will be blamed - forever - on the free market, capitalism, the 2nd Amendment, the 1st Amendment, the Bible, etc. Because the left will paint him as evil - exactly the same way that things unfolded under Bush. Except 10 times worse.

If nobama is reelected, CONGRESSMEN’S PHONES WILL BE RINGING OFF THE HOOK FOR 4 YEARS WITH CONSERVATIVES SCREAMING AT THEM.

Very solid thinking and very well put.

Best option available? That would be our own Tom Hoefling who posts here as Eternal Vigilance. If Romney actually wants actual conservative votes, let's see how powerfully he can grovel in atonement for his entire life and for his despicable but oh so well-funded campaign of lies and smears against every decent candidate running in this cycle.

Any POS so long as he is a "Republican" POS is not a war I feel like driving to. I voted for McCain and every GOP POTUS candidate, for good or for ill since Nixon in 1968. That is done now. The GOP-E and Romney can thank themselves and their execrable campaign tactics for this year's rookie defectors like me. So long, Muffy and Skipper. Try to elect your unprincipled bastard candidate without conservative votes! May your trust funds go straight to hell.

I pray that it’s all bluff and bluster and that they’ll cowboy-up ...

I delicately suggest that what you're proposing to do voting for a guy 100% down-the-line on five major issues in philosophical and fundamental agreement with Obama, is a form of Brokeback Mountain "cowboying-up."

Some real cowboys are going to fight liberalism by voting it down at every opportunity. Speaking for myself, if doing that means going third-party in the General -- well, that's a horse a lot easier to saddle than endorsing the Republican party's full surrender to liberalism. Are you sure you know what a ride on that horse will do?

Our best option is now conservative Virgil Goode who is running on the Constitution Party ticket. They are a recognized party, he has experience with our government, and there are a number of states already having the CP on its ballot with others surely to acquiesce prior to the election.
