On the "ABC's of SNL" podcast, Jon Lovitz called Obama a "jackass" for claiming that the rich don't pay enough taxes. "

That little devil!
He’ll never get work again!!
Oh wait...
Sorry, Lyle.
Why not? I call him that or something similar, almost every day... :)
Lovitz is a creep, even though he is right about this.
That’s the ticket; yeah!
I sense a shift in the force Luke ...
I sure do! On a routine basis.
He's probably the biggest A-H we've ever had in Washington.
Ok, I give up, which one is Kagan?
Ha!
I don’t understand. Why do you think Lovitz a “creep”?
why is he a creep? is this the guy that does "master thespian?" I think he's one of the only newbies that's really any good. But I figured he'd left the show ages ago.
You may be right, but I’ve never heard much to his discredit. On the other hand, I know he punched out Andy Dick when that A** got in his face. He blames Andy for getting Phil Hartman’s wife hooked back on drugs, and ultimately for Phil’s death.
you're right, he's a dope. but his "straight man" is an even bigger creep.

Was there something in the water at SNL in the 90s? Lovitz, Victoria Jackson, Dennis Miller. They’ve all seemed to figure it out.
Miller’s more of a 9-11 convert.
Add Jon Voight and I see a movie coming on ... ;o)

And we've got a hit! (Janine Turner) on our hands ...
Hah! Obama loses another interest group: the late-night comedians.
(Except for Letterman I assume. That weasel is a separated-at-birth soul mate with Bill Maher.)
...as "M"
Plus, Lovitz kicked Andy Dick’s ass over what Dick did to Phil Hartman’s wife.
Knocking Obama and kicking Andy Dick’s ass. I like this Lovitz! GET TO KNOW ME!
What is most revealing is the attitude of many libs (including the one Lovitz was talking to) is that: “so the government took half your income? Why, you’ve still got half of a lot of money.” The premise being: “you’ve got enough dough... let the government take as much as it can. You don’t really own that money.”
exactly...and their lazy assumption that the government is spending it well.
Why isn’t the other guy more curious about where his other half is going?
He doesn’t want to be bothered - and he wants to be cool.
I think even Dana Carvey may fit into that group.

Not gonna do it ... not gonna do it ...
Lovitz was one of the funniest people ever on SNL. We saw him at the Improv in Dallas a while back, and he was hilarious. I always liked him a lot more than Will Ferrell, whose humor mostly seems to rely on being really grating.
Thanks!
Hahahahaha!!!! That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Jon Lovitz is one of the rare few funny people to come out in the past 30 or so years. He was great in City Slickers Part 2.
Jon Lovitz was great as a baseball scout in the women’s baseball movie in A League of Their Own.
You’d think more comedians would figure out there’s a hell of a lot more hay to be made out of spoofing the ridiculous antics of liberals...
Sounds like Lovitz has recently spent some time with Dennis Miller.
I wonder what his wife, Morgan Fairchild, thinks of this?
Sorry Will, you suck on so many levels.
If go you by the SNL cast from 1985-1991, you can add Robert Downey Jr. to the list as well. He's another SNL cast member from that era who apparently describes his politics as conservative now (and like the first 3 on the list, was a liberal at the time)
I agree it is a strange coincidence that SNL from that era produced so many future conservatives. Phil Hartman's dead, but where are Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Kevin Nealon, Joan Cusack, Anthony Michael Hall, Randy Quaid, Terry Sweeney, Nora Dunn, Jan Hooks, A. Whitney Brown, and Don Novello on the political spectrum today? It seems we could reunite the SNL cast c. 1990 and have a Conservative All-Stars SNL special!
(And looking back, I love Lovitz's Dukakis impersonation, though I'm too young to really remember the 1988 election much)
I think that Joan Cusack and A. Whitney Brown are really lefty; don’t know about the other castmembers about whom you were wondering.
Ferrell wasn't on SNL on the same time as Lovitz/Victoria Jackson/Dennis Miller/Robert Downey Jr. There may have been some overlap, but Ferrell's time on the show was the late 90s, '95-'00. I remember watching it when it originally aired and I never found him funny back then, either. Why Lorne Michels gave Ferrell so much screen time and let him mug the camera constantly was beyond me. The Spartan cheerleaders bit was particularly cringe-worthy and they'd beat it to death anyway. SNL also had 4 different Bush impersonators from 1999-2008, and Ferrell's "impersonation" was easily the worst.
To this day, I don't understand what people see in Will Ferrell. The guy has made like 3 good movies and a dozen godawful ones, yet I have friends who think he's a "comedy genius". Amazing that anyone would fork over dough to see this guy after Bewitched and Land of the Lost. Ferell should be apologizing to movie goers for that cr@p, instead he's probably cashing bigger checks and getting paid $20 million to play another idiotic man-child role as I write this.
Actually I thoght A Whitney Brown was conservative, but nonetheless, he was NOT funny either. I could never figure why Dennis Miller always had him as the guest editorialist.
My guess is Kevin Nealon (Catholic) is conservative on some issues, but he’s a PETA nut. Norm McDonald is vehemently pro-life, but may be liberal on other issues.
Other SNL members politics that I know of: Dan Aykroyd-republican. John Belushi-big lib. Chevy Chase-ultra-lefty. Julia Sweeney-atheist, so I’m guessing lib.Julia Dreyfus-lib. Tina Fey “claimed” to be a republican, but I seriously doubt it. Al Franken-guess what. Phil Hartman-strong Catholic, but guess he was a democrat.
Heard him on miller a few months ago
Other comedians (Not necessarily SNL) who’s politics I suspect: Jim Carrey-conservative his spoof of the Act-Up guy on In Living Color was priceless. David Spade- his take down of pompous Hollywood types makes me think he leans rightward. Dana Carvey- also think he has no use for leftists. Chris Farley- staunch Catholic who went to Mass every Sunday; probably apolitical with some conservative leanings. His brother seems conservative.
