Steyn apparently does long hits of nitrous oxide between air segments - he laughs and sputters for air uncontrollably through his monologues. It’s a shame because he is obviously a talented, intelligent writer but I think he’s afraid to get too heavy on the air.
Once upon a time they had a mad scramble to find a guest host and Mike McConnell, formerly of WLW Cincinnati and now of WGN Chicago, filled in. He is a solid, entertaining professional who also had a national once-a-week show thanks to his Clear Channel ties.

I like most of Rush’s guest hosts. Roger is my favorite. Mary’s too boring. Steyn doesn’t bring much that’s substantial, if you listen carefully. We know everything sucks, Mark.
