““we” are supposed to win”

“we” lose if we don’t work to educate folks that those government checks, bennies, and freebies are not consistent with conservatism for the 2016 presidential election. It may be impossible, but it must be done......

The 2012 primaries are all but over. It is going to be, with a high degree of certainty, between Obama and Romney. Since voting for the “most conservative” doesn’t really apply, I’ll opt for voting for the “least marxist”.

Rick “Snarlin Arlen” Santorum is a fiscal liberal who supported Romney in 2008 and was his stalking horse in 2012. He dropped out because he couldn’t win his home state. I have no respect for him. None.

Rick endorsed Romney ONLY 6 days before Romney dropped out - HARDLY a strong endorsement. (which Rick only gave because he thought, at the time, that Romney was better than McCain.)

I have lost so much respect for Newt for giving us Romney. Shame on Newt.

“Democrats created the last $5 TRILLION in new debt since 2006 (after Santorum left office, btw)
snip

If we want to vet Santorum for real and not just throw talking points … let’s go to the record. The record will show that Santorum was and is a solid, mainstream conservative Congressman and Senator. In the 1990s, Santorum was a part of the Gingrich-led Congress that balanced the budget. And in 2002 to 2006 the budget deficit went to $250 billion – high but nothing like the level under Obama, Reid and Pelosi. Claims that Santorum is a big-government conservative are simply contrary to his full record and his conservative agenda as a candidate for President, where he wants to repeal Obamacare, cap spending at 18% and follow the Ryan roadmap and pass the BBA.
snip

While Gingrich criticized the Ryan roadmap, Santorum embraced it.”

Of course, some will ignore these FACTS.

That's the funniest excuse that I've read in a long time! LOL

What's the excuse for his fiscal irresponsibility? Bad eyesight? LOLOL!!!!!

If we want to vet Santorum for real

Look chickie, YOU brought Santorum into a Gingrich thread. Bad idea.

“Democrats created the last $5 TRILLION in new debt since 2006 (after Santorum left office, btw)

Oh good gravy! He wasted money but not as much as Democrats? LOLOL!!!

Oh my! Funny stuff!

It's been fun but I have to cook dinner.

I didn’t write that, the author at Red State did, probably to show how silly Rick bashers are by blaming him for everything.

Too bad you didn’t read the rest of the excerpt which shows what a fiscal conservative Rick was/is, and he embraced the Ryan plan, while Newt DID NOT.

So tell us, why were you afraid to read the entire excerpt showing FACTS on Santorum’s fiscal conservatism?

That's okay, "Public Policy Polling", they are a dem pollster group, but have been pretty close in the repub primaries so far... their bias shows up a little in dem/rep match-ups, I've been told...

Some Red State authors are intelligent enough to agree with me, and some are not.

Anyway, here’s something about the man who Newt helped get the nomination:

Todd Starnes: “Details Romney in 2002 printed flyers that “promised to protect a woman’s right to choose” - p230 “The Real Romney”’

That article lists Santorums record when you scroll down. Even you can’t hide it. Ignore it but not hide it.

Good luck to your candidate which is probably Newt.

I’m not particularly a Newt basher or a Romney lover. I’m just a pragmatist looking toward Obama’s defeat on 11/06.

If Obama wins, many - probably most of his programs, XOs and regulations will be very hard to overturn or reverse.

Plus, he could likely get another chance to install a long-lived liberal on the SCOTUS. Maybe more than one.

There certainly are a lot of Republican sheep bleating on a conservative site "Vote Romney!

There have been a lot of conservatives everywhere doing it. I'm really dissapointed in the Great One. One day he is like why I should I vote for Romney? Just because Paul Ryan said so? Then two days later Santo drops out, and Levin is like we have to get behind Romney now. Hurry. Hurry. Hurry.

Why about Newt? Why give up immediately? He will always bring up Newt's negatives, but never bring up Santorum's or he is always explaining them all away. He said Todd Palin didn't make a bad choice. So I don't understand Mark Levin's candidate choices at all. He seems to pick people he is buddies with: Thompson, Bachman, Santo, Hatch. Levin was for Palin but she didn't run so that doesn't count.

People have gone bonkers and stopped using logic because they're fearful.

There is nothing in Romney's record that would support their fantasies that he could be "controlled, guided or pushed" to the right. And one can't believe what Romney says as he will say whatever is expedient to reach his goal.

I'm truly shocked at those who have caved to the elites fear-mongering.

Why would I want to hide Santorum’s record?

“American Conservative Union — 88%
National Right to Life Committee — 100%
Americans for Tax Reform — 95%
National Tax Limitation Committee — 92%
U.S. Chamber of Commerce — 88%
League of Private Property Voters — 94%”

You're very good at hiding Santorums voting record. Too bad for you that it's public.

Not jolly, just confident I am right that Romney will be the nominee. I’m 100% confident that time will prove me correct.

Seeing reality clearly isn’t defeatism, it’s called being accurate. Fighting a war that can’t be won isn’t defeatism, it’s a waste. If I thought there was even a 1% chance of getting Newt in, I’d be fighting to make it happen. But there isn’t. Instead I’m gonna work to get a conservative Congress (to contain Romney’s liberalism) and i’m going to work to defeat Obama (and stop his untethered 2nd term that would be a radical reign of Marxist insanity).
