SOL: Yep. I cant count the number of times I had to use those links to counter bogus posts that GWB was a victim of CRA that was forced on him and a Republican majority by Barney Frank who they fought on it. This was standard 2008 election year Republican Koolaid.

Of course now many of us on FR realize that GWB was talking out of both sides of his mouth. You deserve credit for telling the truth in the previous decade, when such criticism was blasphemy (for those who quoted only GWB's comments that seemed to be anti-CRA).

Before re-election he promoted the CRA goals raided Housing bubble.
After re-election he lamely asked for some reforms from his own congress (which he didnt get) to slow it down.

The excuses are BS. If I bought all the Republican BS excuses for the Bush disaster then intellectual honesty would require me to make up excuses for Obama too.

The bottom line is Bush had that office for 8 years and left a huge mess. No amount of Bush-bot spinning was going to make that fact go away. I just thank him for laying low, he learned self control.
