Sebelius: Thanks to Obamacare, Law Student Can 'Devote Her Career' to Social Justice
CNS News ^ | 4/15/12 | Elizabeth Harrington

(CNSNews.com) – Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said on Thursday that Obamacare had made it possible for a 25-year-old law student to devote her career to working on social justice issues instead of working for a big law firm.

At Rev. Al Sharpton’s 14th annual NAN conference, Sebelius touted the Administration’s health care overhaul, which she also said was responsible for helping close racial and ethnic health gaps in the country.

“Because of the steps we’ve taken there are 410,000 African American young adults across the country who were uninsured but now have insurance coverage under their parents’ health plan, thanks to the new law,” Sebelius said.

“Now one of them was with me in Miami a couple of weeks ago a 25-year-old law student named Ashley,” she said, highlighting the student as a success story for the Affordable Care Act’s policy that allows children to stay on their parents’ health care plans until they are 26.

“At Rev. Al Sharpton’s 14th annual NAN conference..”

So we now have high administration officials attending a racial huckster’s conference. Good Heaven’s this nation is in serious trouble and we still have people who want to sit out this election if Romney were the nominee.

“I’m willing to bet that this law student has access to extremely inexpensive health insurance through her law school.

Bingo.

My feeling is that the next time Obama voters need good medical care they can go to a law student or a lawyer, or a liberal Congressperson or Senator, or a liberal journalist, or even Obama to get it. These are the people who think they're smarter than anyone else in the world, and who have been perfectly happy to screw over the public and those of us who actually studied and practice medicine.

I doubt most of them would be capable of making it through medical school, or getting an engineering degree etc., but since liberal voters have been perfectly happy to anoint them as the enlightened elite, let the liberal voters have Obama diagnose their illness. Let them have Nancy Pelosi look over their blood work and their imaging studies. Let them go to this aspiring social justice law student for their cancer treatment.

“Social justice is code for Marxism.”

Exactly. Isn’t that one of Alinsky’s semantic tricks?
Similar to `community organizers’ = communists.
Never call what you are or what you’re doing by its real name.

All those justice seekers will be very busy trying to figure out how to get the producers to work harder for the looters and moochers.
People do not work against their own best interest.

"social justice"

Amazing how the Nation's vernacular has evolved into full Communist-speak.

The sooner this election fully solidifies the new age of Communism in the U.S. the better...Then the only realistic process to restore the former Republic and it's Constitution can begin in earnest...

Did you ever read a bigger crock?

If the 25 y/o is about to graduate from law school, that means she’s been there 3 years, since before O’care was passed. Not having coverage thru her parents didn’t keep her from attending law school. Not sure who paid her $3K ‘contraception’ tho.

Is Kathleen saying Ashley got thru law school without student loans? OR does Ashley have $150K in student loans but no doctor’s bills (which for the typical 22-25 y/o aren’t much? What, exactly, is her message here?

Oh, yeah, Kathleen, today most law students, even many from Top Tier schools, are graduating with debt only, no job offers even from Big Law, because your boss has made the economy worse than he found it.

Basic health care coverage is usually included in a student’s tuition fees, she doesn’t need her parent’s coverage.. The whole thing is just a show for election time.
