A former IDF soldier is in a legal battle to be recognized as having been handicapped in battle. The ex-soldier says he is mentally ill due to trauma suffered in war, specifically due to terrorist groups use of child soldiers.
The man says that during his service in the First Lebanon War, he and fellow soldiers were attacked by child terrorists carrying RPGs more than 10 times. Each time he was forced to open fire, a move that saved his life, but he says caused lasting mental trauma.
The young attackers now haunt his dreams, he says.
The Defense Ministry, defending against the suit, recognizes the plaintiff as mentally ill, but argues that his illness was not caused by his IDF service. Ministry officials say an expert found no connection between the mans current mental illness and PTSD.
Attorney Guy Beiton, representing the plaintiff, agrees that his clients current illness is not PTSD. However, he argues, it was caused by untreated PTSD. Beiton noted that his client has no family history of mental illness.

That would certainly be disturbing to shoot at children
Maybe. But if you are shooting at me, or planning to, I’m shooting back.
And I’ll regret it not at all.
...Israel was the "no more" that resulted and the "just starting" antisemitic fascism of Islam also said, "you ain't seen nothing yet!" Muslim babies will die for the hate and their infidel enemies will mourn their children more than they.
Too bad the UN is worthless. Too bad the only morality the New York Times understands is ‘rights’ for sexual choices. In a sane world - child soldiers would be outlawed for those cultures (Arab) too stupid and base not to know better....
I have a recurring night terror from de Nam. We are sweeping thru a ville and meet a group of school kids, 5-9 y/o or so. I see a little girl pull a grenade from her pack. I shoot her and the rest of the squad opens fire.
This never happened, and I don’t know where it came from. Sure wish it would leave me alone.
Non-Israeli inhabitants of the Middle East have been practicing child sacrifice since Old Testament times. This is just wrapped a different way. Mr. Netanyahu, no matter the level Obama administration pressure and policy, do not compromise with pure evil.
You must change the parameters of the dream... have her pull a flower from behind her back...and look for the smile on her face...that will tell your subconscious, who’s driving the dream train, that all is well with the world. :)
That is not a child, it is a Muslim with a weapon.
The commandment said “Don’t murder.”, not “Don’t Kill.
Some people force you to kill them, and those Muslims were their own death warrant.
Phooey!
Remember the story of Shaul. Take comfort in being obedient and faithful.
That’s a disturbing recurring nightmare. I think the suggestion by NCDragon is a good one.
Have corresponded with an ex-sniper, and have heard the same from my brother-in-law the martial arts expert and ex-enforcer. They both confirm that no matter who you kill or why, you never ever forget their faces. They live forever in the memory.
Isn’t that the truth.
The time pencil worked but the C4 had crystallized and my RTO got a cheap heart, the medics popped the bee bee with his thumb nail. I would have shot the little b@tch if the National Police hadn't intervened.
According to the NP she was paid 500p for the operation.
This never happened, and I dont know where it came from.

Sometimes our fears are just as “real” as reality. If you spent a fair amount of time worrying or being concerned that you would be forced to kill a child — even though you never actually did — then that “worry time” is imbedded in your memory also.
I agree with NcDragon’s suggestion. I would add to it that if you can’t actually manipulate the dream while you’re dreaming (which is pretty difficult for most people), you can accomplish the same thing while you’re awake. In your waking state, meditate or otherwise get yourself into a contemplative mood, then deliberately go through your disturbing dream. When you get to the girl w/grenade, as NcDragon suggested, change the story to something happier. Or even have a conversation with the girl. Ask her why she has the grenade. You might get some very interesting reflections.
I’ve used this technique to take the edge off some of my most disturbing memories. It really is very effective. Your brain is really very willing to accept the “rewritten” version of reality. (Which is why it’s so important not to “lead a witness” or suggest things to someone if you are trying to get the absolute unvarnished truth out of them. Our memories are quite malleable. You can use that quality to your advantage here.)
