I'm honestly curious as to the rules of what can be said about this, and what will be the rules going forward. If people applaud Romney leading Obama in the polls, etc., is that going to run afoul of FR's policy regarding supporting Romney?

You know, I'd like a clarification about this too. The majority of active FR members don't give a crap how Romney's doing in the polls, etc. Yet there are two Romney poll articles in breaking news. Not only do most of us not give a crap, the continuation of active boosterism by some is beyond annoying.

I assume that related to the Republican primaries. When we get to the general election, an entirely different reality is present. See below the content of an e-mail I received this morning.

Political Futures "If Mitt wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who have hesitation on that score, I'd just ask you to keep four things in mind: Justice Scalia just turned 78, Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year, Justice Breyer will be 76 in August, and Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago. We wish them all well, of course, but the brute fact is that whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court -- in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come. If you don't think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think you're smokin' something funky." --columnist Andrew McCarthy

My interpretation of the "rules" is that it is considered poor form on FR to be a "booster" of Romney, but it is perfectly acceptable to want Obama to lose and lose big.

To me, the situation is similar to four years ago. I really disliked McCain, in fact, I think I can say that I detest McCain even more than I do Romney. But Palin was the spoonful of sugar that made the medicine go down and I happily voted for the McCain/Palin ticket.

Not sure how happy I'll be with my choice this November but in my opinion, the stakes are much higher this go around. An Obama re-election will be the ruin of us all. So while I will not support Romney on FR, I will be rooting for Obama to lose.

Sure it will, but zots are another matter entirely. The management appears to be practicing an extreme level of tolerance in that regard.

I have a suggestion for all the Romney supporters at FR: Show your support for the conservative congress candidates, and all the conservative local candidates here on FR...Laud the Tea Party, report on your activism at home.

Then if you must support Romney, go to another website where that support will be welcome. Stop abusing Jim Robinson's hospitality!

From a post by JR: As I posted above I’m getting pretty damned tired of being punched in the face.

I will start punching back. And if the gross offenders refuse to back off, I’ll have no alternative but to go for the zot. I am not going to allow our limited resources to be wasted on support for a liberal progressive LIAR!!

Also, see #76"I’m getting pretty damn impatient with the surrender monkeys and useful idiots who continue slapping me in the face, stomping on my toes and poking me in the eye".

Blue screen awaits those who insist on ignoring Jim's message.

Exactly. Are we supposed to cheer this, or “boo”?

When we wake up and Romney has been defeated and the Marxist Dictator is triumphant, are we supposed to high-five and pop the champagne corks?

I think we have entered Wackyland.
