Just curious-—this was a “gated community” wasn’t it? If so, most of those communities that I have come across were either “manned” by someone in a gatehouse, or at the least a literal gate that you used either a key pad or some other method to gain access.

This joint is a low-end gated community. The back entrance actually has a gate. The front entrance (leading to the 7-Eleven) does not. There is a wall around the periphery. It was constructed quite recently. Most of the occupants appear to be transient renters.
