Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!

No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!

NO ROMNEY!!

Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!

Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.

In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.

FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!

We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!

I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!

FUMR!! FUGOP!!

Long live the rebellion!!

Hope my message is clear.

Beck is a useful idiot.

Exposed your boy Newt for the progressive he is, so he's a useful idot, huh? The same could be said for you if you allow Obama to be elected again by voting 3rd party or not at all and encouraging others to do the same. It's not even going to be close here in ultra-BLUE California, but I'll cast my vote for Romney. I don't know, maybe a protest vote in California is doable to get the GOP's attention, but I'd hate for those in battleground states to follow your lead. This country can't take another 4 years of Obama.

No flaw. You based your argument on the fact that many ‘conservatives’ got on board the MR bus. He is provably no conservative. I countered that many ‘scientists’ got on board the GW bus and there’s no global warming scientifically provable.

The inference is that a ‘group’ of educated idiots relied on the ‘group’ rather than demonstrated facts to form their conclusions.

Just like we see on this thread. A group of so called ‘conservatives’ got on MR’s bus because other so called ‘conservatives’ did. They are in fear of Obama and in fear of being outside the ‘cool kids’ group. This is the behavior of sheep, not thinking men and women. AKA Herd mentality.

No error in my logic.

Mac, here’s the problem. I used Christ in my post as a figure of speech. You ignored the thrust of the post and get all butthurt about ‘judgement and spite’.

Newsflash: Most people are so busy trying to make excuses for their behavior, that the concept of right and wrong goes right out the window. When someone points it out in so many words, they go hyperdefensive and start imitating their liberal friends with cries of “judgemental”, when in fact they need to turn their anger inward and search for the the problems within themselves.

I am not, nor will I ever claim to be perfect, nor I an Intervangelist. But I have enough thought molecules rattling around my skull cavity to be proficient at basic addition.

“Conservative vote + Romney = does not compute”

Sorry, but we did not try that in 2008.

Had we at least had McCain in office, we would have had a shot at saving the country. Many, many FReepers and conservatives withheld their vote from McCain. Some lesson, huh? Cut off our noses, didn’t we?

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but “fire in the belly” is virtually a requirement to become president, and it's awfully hard to distinguish that from having a big ego and a will to power.

Exodus 18:21
Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

Notwithstanding kingly zeal not for one's own power, prerogative and discretion but for God's law:

Psalm 119:139
My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.

But the man of authority should wield his authority under authority.

Matthew 8:9
For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

God allows all kind of tyranny to work his holy will but he is jealous of his glory:

Acts 12
21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Because I like Newt, I would not want to give him any more temptation in his life. He has been an unfaithful servant. You would not draft a person eaten up with cancer to champion your team in the NFL.

Luke 19:17
And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

My Pilate analogy refers not to Mittens, but to those who would rather see BO be reelected, and serve have him serve another term, than dirty their hands, in their opinion, by voting for Romney.

If your best option is terrible, but the other is calamitous, you take the terrible option, and prevent calamity. You don't disdainfully point out how terrible the terrible option is, and allow calamity to occur by default.

You are advocating for a lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal when there are stil 46% of the available delegates to be won in the primaries.

You are doing this on a conservative website dedicated to seeing conservatives elected and Romney defeated.

Why?

I very much disagree with that thinking.

The enemy within...

Who shall I choose to represent me?

What good are principles?

My principles.

“Why?”

That does seem to be a very simple question that none of these people are willing to answer.

I’d also ask “Why?” can’t they follow simple directions, AKA “Take your RINO support elsewhere”.

But no, like tantruming children, Daddy, (in this case the site owner) told them “NO” and they are bound and determined to find that one magical excuse that makes it OK for them to keep asking for the cookie over and over and over. I still have yet to see any of them answer my earlier “How can you vote lib and still call yourself a conservative” question either, so we are both likely to be disappointed.

Of course, we’re just disappointed. They have to wake up every day knowing they are selling our everything that men from George Washington and co. to Ronald Reagan believe in and fought for. They can deny it here on FR, but denial does not change reality.

Sorry, but McCain, like Mitt Romney, never had a chance, precisely because of his dalliances with the Left. And it wasn't the conservatives that lost the race for the GOP, but the equivocating by McCain on conservative issues and his horrible record. So let's put the false meme that conservatives are to blame to bed, shall we?!

Romney, on the other hand, hasn't just dallied with the Left, his record as Governor of MA, the only record we have to judge him on, IS a LEFT-WING record.

Romney doesn't have a chance in hell of winning against Obama, in fact, the only thing inevitable about Romney is that, with his left-wing, Progressive Liberal record, Romney is the only candidate that guarantees an Obama re-election.

Obama and the Media will use the following record to absolutely destroy Romney by clubbing him over the head figuratively 24/7 if God frowns on us and leaves Romney as our nominee:

1. Implemented/created Gay Marriage in MA
2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption in MA
3. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly
4. Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA
5. Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.
6. Supported Man-Made Global Warming
7. Supported the Brady Bill
8. Implemented a state level "Assault" Weapons Bill after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire
9. Supported TARP
10. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here)
11. Supported McCain-Kennedy(Amenesty)
12. Implemented a socialized medicine in MA called RomneyCare complete with an Individual Mandate and $50 abortions
13. Nominated 27 Democrats (out of 36 nominations) for judgeships in MA, many of them extreme left-wingers

I'm with Alexander Hamilton:

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

You are the first one that I have read that posted what the bible REALLY says on how our Government is supposed to deal with Evil and the unjust.

Thank you and God Bless.

Agreed. On the matter of principals. There's does come a point when you have to say no. There has to be a line in the sand, so to speak. There are issues for which there can be no compromise. I know many who will not vote for any candidate that does oppose abortion. I can respect that they feel, as I do, that supporting a candidate who stands for abortion is supporting murder. I cannot do that.

Pilate is an interesting example for it raises an interesting point. Who is actually just washing their hands and giving in. I would argue it the people who at this point are giving as you point out with 46% of the delegates left to go are the ones washing their hands of the matter. To which the response from the Romney supporters is, to use another Biblical reference, they can see the handwriting on the wall. Very well, that still doesn't mean it's over. Romney has said it would take an act of God to stop him from being nominated, start praying. Once it is honest and truly over then and only then should the debate begin as to whether it is time to get behind the nominee. If you can compromise principles and vote for Romney then I hope you seriously consider what issues are non negotiable to you.

Pontious Pilate found he couldn't wash his hands of the matter, his non choice was a choice. He chose to put his loyalty to his position as governor above his loyalty to his conscience. How can we then be urged to wash our hands of the matter and accept a man who our consciences revile? I cannot do it. In this case the fighting may be more important that the winning. Stand for what is right for the sake it is right, not because it has a chance of being victorious.

A little historical perspective is in order. McCain was a non-starter for conservatives for a number of valid reasons. His campaign was tanking badly in the same way Romney's is. McCain was too liberal. And for this, many genuine conservatives did indeed pledge not to support him. I'd have to check my post history to see if I did as well. But then McCain did something amazing : he picked an energetic and far more conservative running mate. Sarah Palin changed the game especially among FReepers (or haven't you noticed her fan base here). We did, by and large, pull the lever for McCain (well, Palin, really -- but McCain was along for the ride). And guess what? Despite our votes McCain still lost. Why? Because a liberal with a "D" behind his name beats a liberal with an "R" behind his name in every general election. The base that McCain appealed to, that carried him over his conservative opponents, abandoned him for the more liberal candidate available in the general election. Certainly conservative voter turn out for him was depressed; why wouldn't it be -- he's a liberal. But that is only half the equation. A genuine conservative would have faired better in the general election because voter turn out would not have been depressed *and* because the support would not have abandoned the conservative in the general. How many threads on FR called for abandoning McCain after Aug 2008? None? Because in August he added a genuine conservative to the team. Our mistake was not in failing to support McCain -- our mistake was running him in the first place. Once the GOP figures that out, they might stop making the same mistake over and over. Until then ... it'll be McCain's and Romney's and Obama's in the White House -- whichever one is the most liberal at the time. And right now that is Obama (but only by a little).

Everyone is making this way more complicated than it is. I am asking every person on this thread who intends to vote for Mitt Romney the following, and I ask that you post a simple yes or no response without ‘reasons’.

1: Do you consider yourself a conservative?
2: Are you aware of Mitt Romney’s record?
3: Did you read the opening post by JR on this thread and understand it?
4: Do you still intend to vote for Mitt Romney despite the above?

Again, simple Yes/No answers. Nothing else. If you are willing to vote Romney, then you should be just as willing to HONESTLY answer these questions on an open forum. Let us all see where you stand.
