Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!

No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!

NO ROMNEY!!

Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!

Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.

In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.

FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!

We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!

I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!

FUMR!! FUGOP!!

Long live the rebellion!!

Hope my message is clear.

So we're suppose to sit out the Presidential but vote for the congressional Republican candidates that you say would just roll over on any liberal legislation Romney would propose? Sounds like your just voting for RINOS down the line. And this helps how? Obama doesn't care about congress anyway, he just rules by executive fiat and let's agency’s like the EPA and Justice Dept. Run wild.

If these “down the line” republicans and conservatives we're being told to vote would just role over for Romney, they're no better or any “less RINO” then he is, according to your logic.

So we're suppose to vote for people that would back Romney because he's wearing the “right Jersey” as you say?

If that's true how are these people anymore worthy of our vote then Romney? You're saying they all have no backbone and can be led around like sheep. Jeesh. We've gone from don't vote for Romney because he's the same as Obama to all Republican members of congress are RINOS that would be hypnotized by Romney into voting for his liberal agenda. What's next a link to where I can donate to Obama '12?

Thank you all knowing wise political guru. /S

You invoke Christ’s name an awful lot for someone so full of judgment and spite for those that don’t walk in your shadow.

Amen, call them Country Club Republicans, Check Pants Republicans or Ivory Tower Republicans. They all should be beat with a golf club and get real conservatives to run otherwise we need a Tea Party Party. F the GOP, so if Romney loses does this mean the homo from South Carolina is next in line? Lindsey Graham vs. Obama’s third term after he makes an executive order eliminating term limits...

And what if Obama wins and gets a fully Democrat Congress? Then your lame duck just healed himself and goes crazy mad with his Marxist agenda.

Well, if you are asking my opinion, vote for every candidate on the ballot that appears to evince in word and deed genuinely conservative values and convictions. Avoid those candidates having a history of advancing progressive liberal positions. Pray and listen. Romney is a non-starter for me as he is decidedly a progressive liberal -- Harry Reid with better hair -- Hillary Clinton but less competent. However, if you sincerely feel that he reasonably represents constitutional conservatism as our Founders intended, pull the lever for him. I do not ... and will not.

"Simply because he's sporting the right jersey."

Exactly. It's nice so many of our FRiends do see the bigger picture.

Thank you my friend, but it does seem sometimes that we're waging a never-ending battle against illogic and ignorance in our camp. Jim Rob said just about everything that needed to be said about Romney in his excellent lead post, but this thread has gone over a thousand posts anyway.

So much work...

If people thought Obama conned us, they're wrong. He was transparent about his political philosophy from the very start. Romney is the real con, because he pretends to stand for things that his record shows he is diametrically opposed to. The man in an abject LIAR.

I just do not understand why some people don't plainly see that.

Of course Obama didn't con us... And that's why so many of us will vote for the nominee and not give Obama another term and end up in a gulag.

Your comments are so dispersed, I don't think I can respond to everything you said. But, let me try to address just a couple of points of logic here.

Try to understand human psychology. It's really not all that difficult. People may seem complex, but what makes them tick at their core, is usually pretty simple.

We send the best people we can to Congress, but they're just people. They're as flawed as any of us. Look at Free Republic, for instance. If there were ever a place where the straight dope on Romney was frequently published, and in great detail, it's this place. Yet despite the overwhelming body of evidence available on this website, you still have so-called staunch conservatives here, openly suggesting that we ignore everything we know about this man - throw our deeply held principles to the wind, and give him our vote.

Excuse the f**k out of me, but WHAT???

Well, that's exactly the same phenomena that will happen in Congress (who are even less well-informed than average Freepers) if Romney is elected. Do you really think the good people we send to Congress just suddenly go stupid when they get their first drink of DC water? No, they don't, but they do fall prey to the same kind of nonsensical social dynamics that are at play on this very forum.

This is why they'll roll over and allow Romney to do things they'd never let Obama get away with.

Here's the deal. The fat lady ain't sung yet in this primary battle. We've still got one conservative with a proven track record in this race. The way forward may be daunting at this point, but it's a whole lot less daunting than what the Founding Fathers faced in the mid 1700s.

We don't have to pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to get the job done. We only need to stay firm in our convictions and push the better man to the top, to win the day.

Mitt Romney is only half a step to Obama's right. That's not my opinion - it's documented fact.

Do you have the faintest idea what that means? It means that your faith in Willard Romney is misplaced. Foolhardy, even.

If you think that anything is going to substantially change with Mitt as president, you're either ignorant of the facts about him, or you're drinking the RINO Kool-Aid and throwing your fate to the wind.

Do the math. Look at the upcoming states. Create a spreadsheet if need be. The fat lady has sung.

“nonsensical social dynamic” and “going stupid” to quote you= Same result, and shows lack of backbone and real conservative principles, so once again, how are these down ticket candidates worth voting for in your purist conservative world?

You aren't being consistent. First, you tell me that we ought to vote for the big government liberal, Romney, then you complain about congressmen who lack conservative principles. You then call me a "conservative purist".

Geez, friend. You need to find a place that suits you and plant your feet there. I don't think you have any idea where you stand, politically.

I'll tell you one thing -- if you were standing firm on conservative principles, there's no way we'd even be having this conversation right now.

No, I’m saying if you can’t vote for for Romney because you say he’s to liberal, how can you urge us to vote for people down ticket that if were elected would be so easily swayed to vote for a Romney liberal agenda if Romney were President? That’s what you said.

I plan on voting ABO and most conservative and electable down the line.

Hi Colofornian,

Your analogy would be more suitable if the bride (the USA), brought two grooms to you to decide who she will marry (elect as President). Both of which do not meet your standards. But she will marry one anyway.

Now which one do you pick? The one with the least problems? (Remember she WILL marry one of the two.) Or would you foolishly pick the one with the most problems?

Or just as bad, you pick one she won’t marry (a candidate with no chance of winning) or no one at all. Now you have left the decision up to her and she might pick the worst one of the two.

...Luckily, the marriage will only last 4 years and not forever. So in the meantime, you can counsel her on her next groom... someone you approve of.

I don't recall urging anyone to vote any which way on the down-ticket. Now, if you want my opinion on that, I think that everyone should do their very best due diligence on the public service records of everyone running for Congress, and vote for those who have the best conservative voting records.

My point to you, was, even the best people we can send to Congress are only human. They are as susceptible to the pressure of group dynamics as any of the rest of us, and will likely let their guard down if there's a Republican in the White House. This, despite the fact that the man is an abject liberal. They simply WILL NOT oppose him near as strongly as they will oppose an avowed enemy, such as Obama.

I don't know how much clearer I can make that. I've explained it to you numerous times now. It's a key bit of logic that every conservative needs to get a grip on this very minute.
