“required” I guess is the wrong word.
But I certainly feel “obligated”, even knowing that my works can never repay Him or save anyone including myself.
We can never repay HIM, it’s not even a thought. But I will obey His Ways and hate what HE hates and not out of obligation but love.
But when one is in awe of HIM/His Goodness, “we (all) who fear the LORD will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech.” Prov 8:13
“Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for He guards the lives of His faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked”. Psalm 97:10
“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil”. Proverbs 3:7
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” Romans 12:9
