George W. Bush betrayed Israel too. When Congress in 2002 passed a law mandating that passports of U.S. citizens born in Jerusalem said “ISRAEL”, and Bush wrote an Obama-style signing statement saying he would refuse to enforce that provision. Prick.

What’s the deal here? Bush didn’t want to recognize Jerusalem as part of Israel? And when we passed a law to do so, Bush reneged to sign it? I know I’m missing something here, what is it. Why would we need a law for something as obvious as that? And what’s his refusal about?

We should always write unConstitutional before “signing statement”. It’s another attempt at continuing the imperial presidency, along with a Congress that’s abrogated it’s legitimate obligation to legislate to the Executive. Disgusting.
