"If that person has truly believed in Christ, asked for forgiveness and truly repented of his sin, then yes he is forgiven."

Since you have stated that all sins are equal and there is no "sliding scale," as you put it, then repenting for missing church is the same as repenting for Murder and rape.

And, on the flip side, if a man has not sought forgiveness for missing church or perhaps being uncharitable to a brother or sister, he will cast them into eternal fire and punish them for eternity. Since, obviously, we wouldn't want to assume God could discern the differecne between a murder/rape or a bad day one may have passed away on.

So, how do you think God treats people who bear false witness and are uncharitable to their brethren by being hateful or sarcastic and who continue in their error even until death? Do you think he forgives them without them repenting?

Do you think it is possible to pray for people who havecommitted the sin of missing church and get them forgiveness after they have passed on, or is it too late to have an affect on their souls?

You’re not making any sense. WHERE in the BIBLE does it say that missing church is a sin? That is a man-made rule because Jesus never said anything like that.

Are you saying that there is a limit to forgiveness? That you believe that there are just some things that cannot be forgiven? When I read 1 John 1:9 I do not see a list of things that can’t be forgiven.

As for “praying” for a dead person, uh no. Jesus said “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that WHOSOEVER believes in Him shall not perish but everlasting life” That makes it clear that it takes PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, personal belief, not prayers from your loved ones.

It is clear that you have some pretty different views of Christianity than I do. Mine come from the Bible, where do your’s come from? I am not trying to be ugly to you, just trying to understand where you are coming from.
