WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican presidential contender Newt Gingrich calls the shooting death of a black Florida teen "a tragedy" and describes the man responsible as "a guy who'd found a hobby that's very dangerous."

George Zimmerman was part of a neighborhood watch group.

Newt piling on along with Obama and Santorum. There is no need to get involved with this case except to say that we should allow our legal system to sort things out. The presumption of innocence is a pillar of our democracy. Let the facts and evidence decide the issue and not the court of public opinion. Newt should be decrying the rabble led by Sharpton who has a history of introducing race into such incidents.

Zimmerman was not on duty as part of his Neighborhood Watch duties, which should not be considered a "hobby," but rather, concerned citizens getting involved in protecting their property and that of their neighbors. Why does Newt consider it to be "dangerous?"

>> Newt is not liked by the gun owners.

I’m one of “the gun owners”, and I like Newt. So that right there makes your statement false.

What’s he care? The retards in Florida already voted for Romney, and the retards in the rest of the country look to be doing the same.

While Geraldo blames the tragic death of Trayvon Martin on his mode of dress, I believe there is another element that the MSM will studiously ignore.

Barack Obama has done more to divide this nation along racial lines than anything I can remember. “African Americans for Obama”, “Hispanics for Obama,” “Martians for Obama”, etc., etc... are just part of it. This guy's efforts to take us the rest of the way to communism have angered many of those who may already harbor latent or outright racist tendencies. While Obama’s anti-American behavior has little to do with his race, there are unbalanced folks out here who DO read race into that behavior. Once they cross that threshold, their warped minds can justify nearly any act, up to and including the killing of an unarmed black boy walking through his neighborhood. I fear there is more — and worse — to come.

Barack, some of Trayvon Martin's blood — and the blood of future black and white victims of your racism — is on YOUR hands.

Newt was just saying that confronting people in that context is dangerous.

Newt even appeared in a gun control ad with Nancy Pelosi. Stick your head in the sand all you like, or if you decide to check out post 15, you might get some truth.

Well duh everybody... Newt is not talking about GUNS he is talking about this guy’s “Neighborhood Watch” obsession. If you have heard anything about the story you would know that Zimmerman has made scores of false alarm 911 calls. Sounds like he was a cop/badbutt (I know it doesn’t work but I don’t cuss!) wanna-be.

Newt actually has this just right, as usual.

Why does Newt consider it to be "dangerous?"

Chasing down criminals on the street isn't like playing tiddly winks.

James Woods in "The Hard Way":

"You’re not gonna learn what it means to be a cop by eating hot dogs and picking your teeth and asking stupid questions. We live this job. It’s something we are, not something we do! Every time a cop walks up to a car and has to give a speeding ticket, he knows he may have to kill someone...or be killed himself. That’s not something you step into by strapping on a rubber gun and riding around all day. You get to go back to your million dollar beach house and your bimbos and your b*** j*** and you get 17 takes to get it right. We get one take. It lasts our whole lives. We mess it up...and we’re dead."

As always Newt’s default position is International Progressive, a true little Fabian Prick is the Newster. Note his contorting positions on Global Warming, UN/IMF/FRS and just about everything else. The only thing Newt is capable of is the occasional meaningful sound bite.

Uh, really???

Newt is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, and speaks regularly at the NRA’s Annual Meeting. He received an A or A-plus rating from the NRA all ten terms that he served in the House of Representatives, and received the NRA’s Defender of the Second Amendment award in 2010.

Why don’t you watch the 2010 NRA video:

Yes, being in a neighborhood watch group can be dangerous — kinda like the active-duty military that Gingrich never served in.

I don’t know the ins and outs of every issue and vote dforest. All I am saying is that based on this article it seems to me that “dangerous hobby” refers to Zimmerman’s participation in the communitie’s neighborhood watch program, and his willingness to confront people (before anyone flames me I am not passing judgement as to who started the fight, but it appears to me that Zimmerman left his truck to pursue Martin with the intention of questioning him; that is all I mean by confronting). What is the role of a neighborhood watchmen anyway? I’ve always thought of it as reporting suspicious behavior to the police.

Newt…As much as I admire you and love you, you should have kept our yap shut. There is no verdict in so shut up.

If you are looking for the black vote, which seems to be apparent, forget it; and therefore, shame on you because you are not going to get their vote anyway. But maybe you were also looking for the Hispanic vote since he was referred to as an “Hispanic.” Never the less, SHUT UP!!!

You just may have made some other folks angry at you for this stupidity in trying to get votes.

In the end, this is being made into a racist thing. Period!!!!

JUST SHUT THE HECK UP ON THIS SUBJECT!!!!!
