A few years back, there was some nutty college professor who wanted everyone to join hands around the planet then jump up and down at the appointed time. The desired result was changing Earth’s orbit so it would be further from the sun. About as dumb as the people who say if an elevator goes into free fall, just before it hits bottom "Jump Up" and you will be ok!
