The NAACP was almost 100% Republican when it counted.
After the Republicans got the Civil Rights Act of 1965 passed, the NAACP was systematically infiltrated by democrat party operatives and completed perverted.
Slavery, Jim Crow, and the KKK were all creations of the democrat party.
I will respectfully disagree with that. The NAACP traces its origins to the Niagara Movement, which included the extreme leftist W.E.B. DuBois, who was close friends with the rightfully-blacklisted Paul Robeson, a recipient of the USSR's International Stalin Prize. DuBois died in disgrace in Ghana but before his death he stated:
CODE> I believe in communism. I mean by communism, a planned way of life in the production of wealth and work designed for building a state whose object is the highest welfare of its people and not merely the profit of a part."
The other founders of the NAACP were a rogue's gallery of anti-American liberals such as Florence Kelley, Henry Moskowitz (a favorite of union goons) and Joel Spingarn.
Sure, people like Spingarn may have had an 'R' next to their names. But he was part of the progressive movement, advocating, at best, a softer form of socialism but still socialism.
I'm sorry but the mere presence of an 'R' doesn't equate to a pro-American brand of true Conservatism. In the past, men like "Fighting Bob" La Follette were in fact Republican but they advocated socialist policies. And to this day, we have Republicans such as Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Mitt Romney and John McCain.
Believe me, I saw the NAACP from the inside and I initially fell for their con game. In fact, while I member the scales fell from my eyes and I realized it certainly wasn't an organization dedicated to Constitutional Conservative, capitalist free market principles or liberty.
