“What do you think is the best long(ish)-term outcome to the situation (in Libya, Egypt and maybe Syria)? Continued military rule? Is that sustainable?”
Sorry, I can’t answer your question about Egypt and Syria. I know something about Libya and believe we have a good chance of getting Libya on our side. I fear, though, that that prick obama will mess it up and try to grease the rails for his muslim buddies.
Then again, obama and his stupid leftists haven’t a clue of what’s going on in Libya.
We do have a number of mercenaries and businessmen from America, France and Italy who are moving chess pieces around Libya and preparing the way to go western rather than Muslim. I’m also guessing that Israel is engaged in Libya, too.
My sources, for what they’re worth, are telling me that the Libyan people are leaning toward the West. The one fact that AP mentioned is that Libya wants to become a second Dubai, “the gold city,” and attract tourists from around the world.
The Libyans, especially in Tripoli, are not happy with a small number of Muslim punks roaming the city and causing trouble. Al-Juwali has the guns and horsepower to make the Muslim troublemakers disappear.
I think that’s a fair assesment for Libya. Libya has always been a moderate Middle East trade center throughout its history.
Anyway, this is all MHO.
Cheers, FRiend.
The one fact that AP mentioned is that Libya wants to become a second Dubai, the gold city, and attract tourists from around the world.... That is EXACTLY what my friend (?) from Pakistan said about Lebanon and their troubles. Hamas was hired to to cause trouble in Lebanon in order to send tourists to Dubai. Does our Stupid Department of State understand this at all? No, of course not.
