Kerry didn't get the white guilt vote. White guilt is still strong, especially among aging voters who would usually trend Republican.

Every national election from now on is going to come down to identity politics. The Dems are gonna give us "the candidates that look like America" from now on. Next up after Bummer: a woman. After her? A Hispanic or a homo.
