When the other candidates are taken out of the equation, Santorum leads Romney 47% to 40% in a two-man race in Michigan.
*************************************
With each successive primary, it becomes more clearly a two man race between Santorum and Romney, with the distinct advantage to Santorum. The first hint of this was the Missouri primary where Newt was not on the ballot.
Willard got squashed 55-25.
Now even though Newt remains on the ballot in Michigan and Arizona, he is basically irrelevant because people do not want to waste their vote. After Michigan and Arizona, as a practical matter, it will be as if Newt is not on the ballot. Those of us who do not want Romney will coalesce around Santorum. Even Newt alluded to this early in the primary season.
In spite of some of the shots Santorum is taking, he is just as conservative as Gingrich (and on some issues such as the individual mandate, he is more so).
He is more electable than Newt because of his strength in the midwest swing states and his appeal to ethnic Catholics there and his much lower negatives.
AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL....SANTORUM IS THE ONLY THING STANDING BETWEEN US AND A ROMNEY NOMINATION.
If it was Newt standing in the breach against Willard, I would be cheering him on as well. But it is Santorum and I am A-OK with that. GO Rick!!
He has a TRUNK LOAD of negatives - you just ignore them but they will get exposed when the media gets their turn at him - right now it's too early because they want NEWT out!
You are doing the job for the GOP E and the liberal media. You Compromisers can never speak about liberals after this election - you bought the bait hook line and sinker!
