Nah, she is a New York lib dem...and...her parents live in Florida...but my brother has shamed her over voting for Obama so much now that she is looking to rectify her mistake, and she is sincere on that.
But they have both voiced their concerns to me about Rick being a “right wing maniac”, and those are the exact words they used. Unfortunately, neither of them know the extent of what is occurring in this country as they are both too politically shallow I’m sad to say. Their whole group of friends, including the doctor and his wife, all 30 something, are the same way.
I know what Rick is saying appeals to social conservatives, and I’m fine with that, but I also know that what he is saying does not appeal to young folks in any way at all, and that definitely worries me.
Then he gave GM and a cashbonus to the UAW ~ again, not much of a message to yout' who are not union members, nor even eligible to be in a union (most of them have closed entry to unemployed people).
The Republican response has been much more positive. Every candidate has said something about it, and Newt has a solid plan ~ Mitt less so.
Right now the battle is for Republican votes ~ not Democrat votes.
By Mid-summer Republicans will all be campaigning with a unified JOBS script.
Young folks don’t vote.

Fewer than 20 voted in the midterm elections.
