Conservatives are outraged by lies - leftists are outraged by the truth.

In Holland, you'd see more "outrage" from a 5% tax increase on marijuana or prostution than anything said by Santorum. This article is BS on so many levels.

But if the left wants to play the "morality" game, by all means, let's play and see who wins. Conservatives should not shy away from this. On most moral issues, the conservative position is the majority position, despite the claims of the SRM.

“The most conservative of all the candidates in the Republican primary race. He loathes abortion and euthanasia.”

That is the truest sentence I have seen in awhile. I think this is awesome to point this out. They try to make it a negative, but it the most positive and powerful sentence that they could write.

It all depends on how you define euthanasia.

That is, in addition to euthanizing 3,100 adults every year, the Netherlands also has 33,000 abortions a year. In a population of 16.7m.

Their total annual adult death rate is 8.39 deaths/1,000 population. If you figure out how many people that is, then you figure out what percentage of that total is 36,100 from euthanasia and abortion?

Yes, this is such an important issue in America right now. Everything is just so peachy here in the USA that Santorum has nothing on the domestic front to talk about. He feels compelled to discuss Dutch politics.

Glad there are no more pressing issues to discuss and the current White House occupant is doing such a great job.

This guy appears to have the same problem as Bachmann, making up BS out of thin air.

And he's starting to look JUST AS CRAZY.

His time has passed. He'll not win Michigan or any other primary. He'll never see another public office.

It's likely his children will look to distance themselves from their father...BECAUSE HE APPEARS TO BE A CRAZY ZEALOT.

Nobody who is sane believes 10% of deaths in the Netherlands are the result of euthanasia.

Did all of you Santorum supporters out there hear me?

If you think 10% of all deaths in the Netherlands are the result of euthanasia, YOU TOO ARE FRIGGIN' CRAZY! YOU NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR! YOU'RE CRAZY!

"Santorum claims that euthanasia makes up "10 percent of all deaths in the Netherlands"

Santorum needs his head examined. His claim is absolutely outrageous, and I understand the Dutch being furious over it.

FACTCHECK:

Euthanasia in the Netherlands is regulated by the "Termination of Life on Request and Assisted Suicide (Review Procedures) Act" from 2002. It states that euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide are not punishable if the attending physician acts in accordance with criteria of due care. These criteria concern the patient's request, the patient's suffering (unbearable and hopeless), the information provided to the patient, the presence of reasonable alternatives, consultation of another physician and the applied method of ending life. To demonstrate their compliance, the Act requires physicians to report euthanasia to a review committee.

Actually the assisted suicide cases represent 1.2% of all deaths in Netherlands

When did we start caring what influence the Dutch may have in our presidential candidates? Really? Waaaah!

Was the man born with his foot in his mouth or is it an acquired talent. Geez could we pick a worse candidate to run against OBama in a year dominated by horrible economic issues. Let’s nominate Saint Rick and then run a completely crazy, over the top social issues campaign. That should win us maybe 2-3 states. The OBama people must feel they are the luckiest people in the world. Their two most likely opponents are either the liberal, architect of Obamoney Care or a sanctimonious twit who doesn’t engage his brain before opening his mouth. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good and right now OBama looks pretty lucky.

Rick Santorum isn't just talking to talk, he had "skin in the game" during the Schiavo incident.

Santorum on Schiavo (March 17, 2005)

Santorum is a cosponsor of legislation that guarantees legal protections for incapacitated persons, like Terri Schiavo. The Incapacitated Person’s Legal Protection Act of 2005, authored by Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL), balances the acknowledged right of a person to refuse consent to medical treatment with the right to consent to treatment to preserve life...

Let's not forget what happened in New Orleans after Katrina where critically ill patients were allegedly murdered with morphine.
