Santorum Questions Obama’s Christian Values

COLUMBUS, Ohio — White House candidate Rick Santorum on Saturday questioned President Barack Obama’s Christian values and attacked GOP rival Mitt Romney’s Olympics leadership as he courted tea party activists and evangelical voters in Ohio, “ground zero” in the 2012 nomination fight.

Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator known for his social conservative policies, said that Obama’s agenda is “not about you. It’s not about your quality of life. It’s not about your jobs. It’s about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology.”

Obama campaign deputy press secretary Ben Labolt said Santorum’s comment was “the latest low in a Republican primary campaign that has been fueled by distortions, ugliness, and searing pessimism and negativity.

Even as he criticized Obama, Santorum also went after one of Romney’s most promoted achievements – his leadership at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.

“One of Mitt Romney’s greatest accomplishments, one of the things he talks about most is how he heroically showed up on the scene and bailed out and resolved the problems of the Salt Lake City Olympic Games,” Santorum said. “He heroically bailed out the Salt Lake City Olympic Games by heroically going to Congress and asking them for tens of millions of dollars to bail out the Salt Lake games — in an earmark, in an earmark for the Salt Lake Olympic games.”

Organize a national day of Koran burning across America and see what Obama does.

I’m not quite sure I understand you post, since it’s entirely off topic of this thread. Here’s the point I responded to:

“Is catholicism really a Christian religion?” posted by some doofus who also indicated that he would not support Santorum but would support Gingrich, who is also Catholic, which is a nonsensical position.

I don’t indirectly deflect any comments about Theology. Mormomism and its Uncle Christianity are equally silly to me and have nothing to do with whom I vote. I have no idea what Obama’s theology is nor do I care.

I vote Conservative in the Primaries. Republican in the General. Not worried about White Horses, magic underwear, the “Rapture” (although the song by Blondie concerned me musically), the Pope, ritual cannibalism, Joel Osteen, or Rick Santorum’s sex life.

Since you are anti-Mormon, I was wondering, are you also one of the many anti-Catholics on this board?

This article is obviously a hit piece on Santorum. It is filled with lies, distortions and snide remarks about Santorum. It shows how difficult it is in America today for a conservative to deliver an honest message and tell the truth. Only the meaningless slogans like “hope and change” and “shovel ready” get praised by the MSM. Any attempt to honestly and intelligently deal with the important issues is attacked and ridiculed.

That said I agree with Santorum’s statements and I am impressed that he keeps articulating these themes. Everyone says it is political suicide to do so and that Santorum will be torn to shreds by the MSM/Democrat attack machine.<

But I want to see a candidate that is honest, intelligent and courageous and will not back down on these important moral issues.
