Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping praised the partnership with GM and China yesterday, congratulating the auto company for returning to its position as the number one automaker in the world in 2011.

"Here I wish to congratulate General Motors for becoming world champion in car sales last year," Jinping said, hailing cooperation between the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and GM.

"For two consecutive years, GM sales in China has exceeded its sales in the States," he added.

I wonder if the Chinese made GM cars are better made than the GM cars made in N. America?

We're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little more now if we can and the rest next quarter.

If GM/China has no UAW labor on its assembly lines, then the quality is probably pretty good. The horror stories of American union "workers" is well known. Refer to Lordstown, Ohio for one such case where union "workers" would stop in the middle of a welding job when the shift ended.

Union "workers" == shoddy goods.

WHAT?!? I hope this “practice” doesn’t apply to airplane construction as well.

“Union “workers” == shoddy goods.” Go TX!

The Chinese GM auto owners send out a big “Xie xie” to the American taxpayers who helped reduce the price of cars in China! Have an eggroll!

Rather than being put off by this, Americans ought to be proud that GM vehicles are so well regarded in China. A Cadillac or Buick in China has a better reputation in China than they do here in the States.
