Retired U.S. Marine Corps officer Oliver North told The Daily Caller that he would like to see former House Speaker Newt Gingrich as commander in chief, saying that another four years of President Barack Obama would be “a nightmare.”
North told TheDC at the Conservative Political Action Conference that “two years ago, when [Gingrich] suggested he might run, he asked for my support. I pledged I would do it,” he said. (RELATED: More interviews from CPAC)
“It’s time for us to hire a commander in chief who doesn’t feel necessary to run around the world apologizing for America,” said North.
“I’m deeply concerned that if we don’t hire a new commander in chief… we can indeed end up in very, very serious jeopardy in this country,” he added.
Nothing against Rick at all. But, Newt is the one person who will change DC. As a matter of record, he did it in the 1990's- which is why all the DC vested interests oppose him now.

And Thomas Sowell, whose silence on Santorum indicates to me that he's not all that impressed with the Nice Young Daddy-State Compassionate Conservative Rick, yesterday in National Review was crystal-clear that in a race between Romney and Gingrich, Gingrich is hands-down the better choice. He also warns: If Romney turns his well-financed character-assassination machine on Rick Santorum, or Santorum resorts to character assassination against either Romney or Gingrich, the Republicans may forfeit whatever chance they have of defeating Barack Obama in November.
Some might savvy fellas are backing Gingrich; Santorum, on the other hand, has the backing of some great radio show hosts and a holier-than-thou James Dobson who thinks Newt just isn't "Christian" enough -- the same judgment he pronounced on Thompson in 2008.

I hope Gingrich doesn’t spend time on Romney when he speaks at CPAC. I want to hear regular old Newt ideas and solutions. He is always fantastic when does that.
