And Gingrich endorsed her

DUH!! Not for president but an area in upstate NY! Surely, you can still make that distinction - in spite your closed eyes to truth

Judging by promises made during the campaign, Romney was the best.

ONLY idiots listen to promises from a known liar and one with Romney record. Seems you guys have learned nothing and are doing it again w/Rick!

Wouldn’t Newt and Rick prevail on the second ballot in that case? If their delegates combined totalled more than Romney’s, then when one directs theirs to vote for the other guy, they should be in like Flynn.

Not necessarily. Either Gingrich or Santorum would have to give up after the first ballot and I don't see that happening unless one or the other has a commanding lead and gets something in exchange (i.e., the VP slot).

Unless someone gets a majority on the second ballot, then there are no winners or losers on the second ballot. They keep voting until someone gets the necessary majority. In between ballots they gather in chewing gum filled rooms (since smoking is now prohibited in most convention centers)and make back room deals.

Heh, is chewing tobacco permitted?

I actually disagree to an extent on the V.P. deal. I am almost sure Newt would agree to take the V.P. slot with Rick if he goes into the convention with less delegates than Rick. He’s a pragmatist at heart. Rick, on the other hand, is more of an idealist. The fact that he even attempted to run in the 2006 Senate race shows he’s willing to drive himself over a cliff for a longshot chance. But Newt might be able to reason with him, especially if Rick has far less delegates.

The danger of Newt being ahead of Rick going in though, is that Mitt will also be trying to court Rick aggressively to cut a deal to be his V.P. If Rick believes what he said this week that Mitt is the least electable of the bunch, then he’d be more likely to cut the deal with Newt. And if there’s truly already been an “arrangement” behind-the-scenes between Rick and Newt, then this may already have been decided.

I believe the base would be ecstatic with a Newt/Rick or Rick/Newt ticket. If the base has the power to influence the way this thing comes out, that’s what I think we’d see out of a brokered.

JusrMyThoughts, most if not all of us know that Santorum has both voted and said things that most Freepers would consider problematic. So has Gingrich.

Gingrich's shortcomings while many has not hid himself within the PROUD-GOP establishment. What we have been told is the dirty laundry of Gingrich's life. But the 'PROUD' have never been called out to be held to account for their methods of operation.

I have had my fill of the Newt bashing over 'adultery' to individual women as if that is his political burden to bear forever. Well from where I sit, I suffered NOT from Newt's sins, but my young children sure did have to suffer through the moral degradation of Clintonism. And I see NO Christian reason to cover up the role Santorum played in protecting Clintonism/liberalism. There is such a thing as political adultery and it is called bipartiasmship. Selling US out for self serving political expediency.

So long as the pious among US have the need to bash Newt's personal moral deficiencies, I intend to respond in kind with the exposure of people with political and spiritual moral deficiencies.

I’m sorry, I apparently missed your caveat in your previous pronouncement against endorsements. So you now say it’s fine to endorse a pro-abortion socialist against a pro-life conservative who is leading her in the polls, but only if it’s in upstate New York?

Looks like you don't know who you are talking to..anymore than who to back. You just yack away and don't see the evidence in front of your face.....that is why we will end up with a RINO picked by the establishment.

People playing around with politics with half the information and picking the wrong people to back, well I'm sick of it.

Thanks Crip..we will all likely be getting the ROMBOT..because you did not listen to fellow freepers or look at the big picture. You just knew that you didn't like Newt. What a crock.

I really don’t care what pathetic pieces of scum like you think. I thank you for finding my comments to be so important that you had to take time out of your busy day of looking at pictures of Mitt and touching yourself, to respond weeks or months later.

Now to quote William Shatner. “Get a life”

"Santorum is only still in the race because Friess, who supported Romney in 2008, is bankrolling him to take votes from Gingrich. Once the job is done, sweater vest gets a pat on the head and a cushy job for helping the blue bloods and country clubbers take out the only non-lawyer still running."

Just so you know...you are officially reported. I'm sure it's not the first time and I am not alone in finding that this obscene personal attack is not proper behavior on any public forum.

You've been a busy little boy here, haven't you?

However, your post was still absurd beyond all reason.

And who did you think Santorum was going to endorse, all these months later, with the nomination wrapped up and all serious rivals out of the race..........Obama??

And in your little fantasy, do you imagine that Santorum made his sweet little baby girl sick as part of his 'tag team' with Romney??

You are truly off your rocker, and apparently proud of it.

God's best to Rick Santorum! He fought the good fight, and now is going to try to move Romney to the right, toward conservative principles.

We got a great e-mail from him today, and I think as much of him as I ever did.

God bless him!
