Santorum got to address an issue only because he was not under personal attack, since he was considered too unimportant by the Romney campaign, which is focused on Gingrich.

He did a good job on that, but sadly, he agrees with Romney on a lot of other things and I suspect would be very happy to fold his principles for a shot at the postion of Romney’s VP. Right now Santorum is useful to Romney where he is, however, and I don’t think Romney will attack him yet.

Newt is out to win and we need to get the vote out so WE can win. You take your chances when you run for office. Let’s win this for Newt, ourselves and the United States of America.

There is absolutely no reason to start tearing down Santorum like we have done with every other candidate in this race. I can’t think of one thing he agrees with Romney on and he’s not for sale for a vp slot or anything else.

Stop with the insults and innuendos against other Republican candidates. They’re all ours, on our side (except Romney who has proven otherwise).

Santorum launched a lot of vicious personal attacks on Gingrich in Iowa and in fact was even worse than Romney at the outset. Santorum has spent his entire career in DC and has never made any waves, although he was so personally unpopular that he lost his last election by 700,000 votes.

He may disagree with Romney on some things, but overall, they’re both big-government guys and I think you’ll see them working out their differences before too long. Otherwise, Romney will start to attack Santorum (which he has not done yet), and believe me, Santorum will not want this and will “settle” with Romney right away.

That was exactly how I felt about him.

What may be an important and interesting factor in the Florida primary, and in the general election, is how motivated is the candidates base.

Whose supporters will have the most motivation to get to the voting booth?

In a few hours, we'll see if this has any affect on the primary.

I'd suggest a Newt upset against the poling data reflects an enthusiasm gap rather than a poling error.

If the votes for Newt and Santorum total more than Rom’s(only IF), then that means that a consolidation of Conservatives would have pushed one of them over the top.

At the same time, I believe Rush pointed out that the most prevalent 2nd pick for both Gingrich and Santorum voters was not the other, but Mitt Romney.

Yeah, I know. Makes no sense. But that was the premise: IF the poll was correct, Romney would most profit from either dropping out.

In that case, THANKS ALOT RICK. We won’t forget what you did. :-(

I agree with you but Rush doesn't. He thinks the Santorum votes will go to Romney if he drops out. Not sure where he gets that idea.

Just watch the national media start hinting/calling this at 5:00PM EST 3 hours before the polls close in the pan handle.
I know the major population is in the east but there is that whole "free & fair" elections thingy.

Wrong on all counts. Santorum made plenty of waves and fought for a conservative agenda. He’s nothing like Romney and has tried to get the people to understand what’s at stake with Romneycare.

He won two terms as PA Senator before he lost one. The one he lost was to a favorite son and a year where Republicans took a huge hit.

If you scrutinize any candidate’s records you’re going to find things you disagree with. People are now criticizing Rubio and calling him a RINO and I’m not even sure what their beef is.

Time to stop tearing these guys down. Disagree with their policies but don’t make baseless accusations or projections and don’t insult them personally. That only hurts our cause.

You got that right. Everything about him shouts FRAUD Shyster.

Thing is, if he will lie to the people about Newt, what will he do as President? now that is scary. He has got to be stopped.

“Anybody have any reports about the volume of early voting?”

funny you should ask. Tweet from CNN’s Lisa Lisa Desjardins

“FLORIDA TURNOUT: So far 127,389 people early voted in the Sunshine State, our @psteinhauserCNN reports. Another 250K+ absentees returned.”

People are now criticizing Rubio and calling him a RINO and I’m not even sure what their beef is.

In my case it was Rubio calling for Gingrich to remove a supposedly negative ad but not a peep out of him about Romney's disgraceful ads. I'm Irish and a Taurus so I tend not to forget these type of things.

If that's accurate, that's about 400,000 ballots. That's a far cry from the 600,000 that they had been saying.

What a surprise, the media may not have gotten it right the first 20 times they reported it.

Sigh.

I hope it's right. 200,000 less early votes is less Romney-favored votes.

Conflicting Tweets on Florida Turnout:

“District 23 here in Stuart looked like a ghost town this afternoon. Hopefully, the LACK of turnout here is an exception.”

“Mitt Romney is getting nervous about Florida Primary Voter Turnout, Voter Turnout at an all time low”

“Turnout as of 4 pm: 9.9% at sample polling places for today’s elections, plus 22.7% early vote/mail ballot turnout prior to election day.”

“Sarasota: Primary turnout is very light”

John Avalon, Daily Beast- “I’m hearing relatively low turnout in FLA: wonder if its the avalanche of negative ads - 93% of total in the last week.”

I have a friend in St. Augustine and up until a few days ago, she was undecided , until I sent her a few things about Mittens. Still not sure if she voted Santorum or Newt today but I know it was NOT Mittens.
I told her to forward the articles I sent her to all of her friends and relatives in the area and how important it was to stop Plastic Ken Doll Mittens.
