Barney Frank to marry longtime partner (Sick!)
The Hill ^ | 1/26/2012 | By Justin Sink

Posted on 01/26/2012 9:56:47 AM PST by tobyhill

Retiring congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) will marry his longtime partner, Jim Ready.

Frank and Ready plan to wed in Massachusetts. Frank's home state is one of six states, in addition to the District of Columbia, that permits gay marriage.

Frank announced in November that he would be retiring from Congress after 16 terms to pursue other opportunities. In 1987, Frank disclosed that he was gay, becoming the first openly gay member of Congress.

Sounds like a really creepy sitcom.

I'm sick about the condoning of immorality in this country and around the world.

I'm even sicker when my government says I'm offensive when I speak against it.

I heard Barney Frank on the radio the other day. Perhaps he just had a cold or something, but he sounded like he was at death's door.

Sudden retirement? Sudden desire to marry the person you've been with for years and years? Sudden evident ill health?

Barney's in my dead pool for 2012.

The excited soon-to-be-wed couple have already selected this classic as the theme song for the gala event:

"Im Walking Behind You On Your Wedding Day"

I'm walking behind you on your wedding day
And I'll hear you promise to love and obey
Though you may forget me, you're still on my mind
Look over your shoulder, I'm walking behind

Maybe I'll kiss again with a love that's new
But I shall wish again I was kissing you

'cause I'll always love you wherever you go
And though we are parted, I want you to know
That if things go wrong, dear, and fate is unkind
Look over your shoulder, I'm walking behind

If things go wrong, dear, and fate is unkind
Look over your shoulder, I'm walking behind

His re-election campaign couldn't survive the bachelor party photos.

Marry?!? Two Men?!? Impossible?!? The bible and every major religious text in the world defines marriage as a union between one man and one women...

Oh you must be talking about government sanctioned union between two people of the same sex, that some politicians, bureaucrats, and liberal courts have said must be called a "marriage". I suppose it makes them feel better to play "pretend" but it's no more a marriage than if the same bureaucrats told you that you must call your pet cat a dog, would make your feline turn into a canine.

It’s more progressive to hyphenate. Could be Barney Frank-Ready, or Barney Ready-Frank. My bet is on the first.
