Black alumni join students in concern over Duke study

The "multicultural" movement is simply an anti-Christian culture movement.

Obama was applying to the Law School - a nouveau professional school founded in the nineteenth century - horrors.

As a graduate of one of Harvard's 'nouveau professional schools,' and student of one of the joint graduate degree programs, I can only agree with that. The University, undergraduate faculty, and undergraduate students all clearly viewed the graduate professional schools as Harvard's community colleges.

Harvard Law School is the largest in the nation. That alone was held up as evidence that, well, it certainly wasn't particular about the students it admitted, unlike the undergraduate school and the non-professional graduate schools.

Muawiyah - you are really misinformed about the admissions process at Harvard. First of all, you need to understand there are many different admissions committees there. The Law School process and criteria are very different from the College. They have their own culture and what might work at one place will not work at the other. The Law School is very liberal. If one of Obama’s ancestors had been hanged as a lesbian witch centuries ago, the Law School *might* find that interesting. The fact that his father was enrolled in a master’s program over in Arts and Sciences would be no big deal. The fact that he was black - that was important.

Re descendants of the early colonists, it is definitely not a thin herd. Descendants of the early colonists are fairly common. Many people don’t even know. Colonial Dames, Mayflower - it’s no big deal. Any applicant who brags about such ancestry in his essay will not help his cause. Eyes will be rolling at the admissions office. LOL

You have a handful of concepts mixed together here -

1. Everyone has different “learning styles” - if you have kids - you know what I mean.

Different kids are ready for different things at different times, and learn them different ways.

This is an immutable fact.

2. Black kids - may need to be taught differently from white kids - HOWEVER - it seems whatever flavor of the month PC nonsense - they still don’t learn. (Of course SOME do - just - the averages)

3. One of the most consistent numbers in social sciences is the delta between black and white IQ performance. it is always about 15 points - one standard deviation. It is huge. It is repeated in everything. (Whether it comes up as 95 points on SAT, or any other standardized test - it is almost always there.) - Blacks racists and PC lovers hate this.

It is also repeated at the upper end of the scale - remember - we are 50 years - 2 generations - into affirmative action etc.

4. Most of edcuation is full of racists and leftists. That is why they whine and complain. Someone tries to help - writes the book you found - and they whine and complain about that.

5. The biggest issue - my current conclusion - is there is a massive failure of Black leadership - middle and upper class - to really face this problem. If you post something along this topic - the majority of “normal black folks” - the equivalent of you and I - will whine and complain and call you racist etc etc etc. look how they responded recently to Santorum - he stated some very basic facts - to avoid poverty - get a job, graduate HS, and don’t have kids till married. SOOOO - they called him a racist.

This - in an environment in which close to 50% black males don’t graduate HS, and 70% children born to unwed mothers. Both numbers trending up.

Anyone with a brain can see the roots of the problems - but the racist blacks at the top of the pile get their needs met by Affirmative Aciton, and their Democrat/Leftist representatives get their power from the desperate, semi literate, main Black population.

25% of Democrat votes nationwide - are Black.

The causes of the educitonal underperformance of Black America are not clear. Research indicates it is NOT just due to culture - though I bet it sure doesn’t help to be anti-education.

If you dig into this topic - you will be shocked. The delta is NOT due to “resources” - that is just the blacks and their representatives doing a number of things - 1. blame shifting/victimhood, 2. getting resources for political allies, and 3. denial/making excuses.

If you dig - you will find AVERAGE inner city black IQ = 76. Seriously - half are two standard deviations below normal.

Affirmative Action - and other leftist policies - such as Africana Studies etc - only make the matter worse. They reward racism, reward underperformance, don’t require top blacks to reach their full potential (there are so few really smart blacks, that they stand out quickly - look at both Obamas. Those are Harvard Law degrees. Nothing personal - but they just aren’t that smart. and - look - they don’t have to be.)

Africana studies - and similar - bleed off another % off the top. Easy majors, low scholastic requirements - and no value added to society. But - a new legion ofvoices to claim - it is whiteys fault - pushing them AWAY from solutions.

Black intellectual performnce should be the number one priority of the US government. I would put us on a war footing - to the point of seperating children from families for a few years. If you study these issues - you will see - it is a catastrophe of the first order.
