I used to relish her articles, columns and interviews.

She’s been too influenced for too long by the beltway/ivy league pseudo-intellects.

She has lost touch with us out here in flyover country.

They can munch on asphalt for a year or two; they may then regain an understanding of things..

I still do, her humor and wit are second to none. I don't understand her love of Romney and I don't understand why she didn't support Bachman. I guess some people can't be right 100% of the time.

She does make a point about the conflicts between many Catholics and Republican policy. Many in the Church believe we have a duty to care for the disadvantaged, and we do indeed as individuals have that responsibility. The difference is that many Catholics believe that we have that responsibility as a society and there is the rub. If all Catholics were generous in their offerings to the Catholic church then the Catholic church would have the money it needs to take care of the poor but unfortunately the members of the Catholic Church are not as a whole so generous. Catholics like Pelosi, Kennedy and perhaps Santorum (although I believe he is the best of what's left) feel that they should make society follow the ideals of the Catholic church and care for the poor. So now 50% of the people in this country support the other 50%.

I know people will jump all over me but Ron Paul is right on this point, the government taking from me to support sombody else is no different than Robin Hood doing it. I resent it. I am generous in my offerings to support the poor because I feel as a Christian it is my duty, I do not feel it is my duty to force someone else to do Christian Charity.

Christian Charity forced upon people and administered by non-Christian people has promoted single mothers which has been the biggest factor of ruin in our society. I remember when Lyndon Johnson told a group of reporters that women would not have children to get more welfare and laughed at the idea that that would happen, it did indeed happen and we now have had babies having babies for generations and ruined these generations, nothing will ever be able to help these poor people fit back into society, it has been an evil exercise all in the name of Christian Charity.

Call it what ever you wish but the safety net or welfare has ruined our society.
