The quadrennial electoral process is inimical to our cherished vision of American exceptionalism. vAmericans have come to expect a standard of behavior from those who present themselves as presidential candidates. American exceptionalism is key——voters can and should reject those candidates who do not meet the exceptionalism standard.
Newt catapulted to front-runnning status fueled by his debate responses. Of all the candidates, Newt, alone, has
exhibited a formidable presence, and a studied detachment. Newt’s winning Americans over with his profound knowledge of (and a good-natured willingness to explain) govt minutiae to attentive voters.Newt allied himself with Reagan into building the Reagan Coalition.
The resultant Reagan Revolution had enornmous consequences: the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, a shrinking government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy. The ACU gave him a 100% rating.

I'm not happy with any one of them. I know that I must pick someone - but I need to do some more praying for guidance on who to choose.
It's sad that we are put in this position - but Obama must be defeated. Definitely no Romney!

Newt, because sometimes you need the tough battle hardened mercenary more than the Boyscout with unblemished honor.
Illinois doesn't vote until things are going to be all over so other than message board warfare I have not say in this. But they do need to get down to one, and do it soon. If Romney wins SC and Florida he will be darn near unstoppable. So whichever conservative comes in first in NH and SC needs to carry the flag, and the rest need to fall in line behind him.

Probably in that same order as you posted, Newt > Perry > Santorum but I would be OK voting for any of them and don’t have any plans to work against any of them. I would rather keep all three as strong as possible to go against Obama versus joining the camps of tearing down anybody but a single candidate of the day.
Right now, I’m for anybody but Obama, Romney, or Paul.

Newt. He is the only one who was able to make changes IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
