I call it like I see it. Your screens must be caked with spittle. Your pal just said Paul had a “whacked-out poo-brain”.

Ok it’s not hatred. It’s infantile and stupid.

No it is accurate and polite considering some of the other things said about Paul.

I see you are class of ‘98. Have you always been a Libertarian or is this a new development because of Ron Paul?

With every flaw that Ron Paul has, he is still heads above anything that has been served up. I would take my chances with him over Romney or Gingrich. Ron Paul is the only Candidate that can beat Obama.

Paul’s departure from the Republican Party and attendant remarks disavowing Reagan are well known. Does not bother me in the least. Ron Paul stuck to principle in desiring a smaller government as opposed to a slower growing, big government. That notion is resonating a bit more these days, as it should. Are any other GOP candidates iterating clearly an intent to shrink government as opposed to reigning it in a bit? Cain was there. Palin, too. Bachmann, maybe.

They don't. I guess Ron Paul figured if the feds were taking money for their big welfare state he might as well ask for some of it back on behalf his constituency. Hopefully the funds as received were put to good use and accounted for, the people in his region enjoying some prosperity and good theater at the same time; maybe even a good Batman show now and then. A life time 83% positive rating from Citizens Against Government Waste isn't too bad. He's improved that figure over the past few years, too. Makes him a kook, no?

Serious question: If a person with Ron Paul's (supposed) position on smaller government came out to the podium at one of the debates in a Batman costume and insisted the moderator address him as "The Dark Knight" or "Mr. Wayne," would you vote for him?

If you count that as a serious question, then I guess we differ from the get go when it comes to language. Would you fashion a fancy stick, swat hornets' nests with it, and then expect obedience and adulation in return? Essentially that is what we do when we allow our dear leaders to advance Western principles by force and without invitation.

Western principles are great. They are worthy of strong defense, and even widespread promotion. But if you think they won't cause issues when spread into snake pits, well, look at our economy now. We've taken our best resources and spread them into all corners of the world like honey on a dog turd. Now we get to experience the stink and sting.

Maybe you don't think we have the wherewithal and resources to defend ourselves within our own borders while trading peaceably with foreign interests. Send me a little cash for a bazooka to guard the ghetto over my way. I promise, you'll feel safer and you'll be more prosperous. But be ready to bleed when the locals reject my sense of how they need a little policin'.

If you are trying to get someone banned or suspended because you don’t like their personal choice, wouldn’t it be courteous to ping them, as you are tattling to the Mods?

No problem. There have been so many of these threads and so many of the same people its hard for me to keep track.

I’m praying things will settle down in the next few weeks.

Pardon me, but my recollection is that this is a conservative forum. That doesn't mean we all will always agree - however, promoting left-wing Soros funded organizations to smear conservatives does not appear to be in keeping with that ideal, nor does telling people you wish them to 'drop dead' for pointing out the fact they are doing so - do you find that to be courteous? There was no reprimand from you in regard to that kind of a remark.
