But just the other day, the MSM was breathless about a poll showing Obama’s job approval rating was sharply increased. How does this square with a poll showing he would lose re-election so decisively????

I think those numbers didn’t hold. There is a thread here today about the change.

Christmas bounce. Happens every 3rd year of a presidents’ term. Every other president since Gallup started polling (Roosevelt) experienced a surge in support to at least 53%. Even Carter, Ford, and Bush Sr. Gallup registered Obama peaking at 48%... now has him back down to 41%.

He shot into positive territory 47%-45% for one whole day, in the Gallup daily tracking poll released on 12/24. Since then he’s steadily dropped back down to 41%-50% in their latest poll released today.

Call it a “dead reindeer” bounce from the payroll tax cut farce.

...the MSM was breathless about a poll showing Obama’s job approval rating was sharply increased.

The MSM saw the Gallup tracking poll on Dec 26, with the flawed data, which self corrected the next day. Now when that flawed poll was released, the MSM reacted like I did, when as an teenager I saw my first centerfold in Playboy... A blonde, I think from Scandinavia, and well proportioned... long neck, long legs, and ample... But it was as meaningful as the paper it was printed on. A delight to the eye, but no long lasting effect.
