Do we have a need to BE conservative? If Obama is such a pushover, why in the world wouldn’t we nominate a conservative candidate then? Are we going to wait for a tough election to try and get a conservative in there? Makes no sense. We need to care about principles, not just about “winning.” We won with Arnold in California once, and we’ll have the EXACT SAME RESULTS if Mitt wins. I can’t think of two Republicans more similar to each other than Mitt and Arnold. Our party will be in shambles.

Your complaint against Drudge is not the first. Yes, Drudge has pulled a drip, drip, drip for Romney. But, Rasmussen is a hell of a source in their own right, at least in the past. Very disturbing. I may have to change my tag line.

The country would be stronger with Newt and Bolton as Sec of State than Romney and ?????

Who would Romney make Sec. of State?

Drudge is coordinating his headlines with Romney's campaign manager Matt Rhoades on a daily basis.

Have you ever considered starting a 24/7 front page link page to compete with Drudge's current bias? Something that would counter the Rhino message? Where you decide what should be the headline?

Is it just me, or is Drudge really doing everything he can to promote Mitt, Paul and Santorum while doing everything he can to sink Newt - which his dramatic headers and snarky comments and use of pictures?

Why not?? He did the same for Obama in 2008!

As Weekly Standard pointed out, Romney always starts out strong in his campaigns and then gradually fades away as more and more people get turned off and underwhelmed.

Do you have a link for this?

Romney would be no better for national security than obama. Unless he took a poll first, or made a call to George W. Bush. Look, Romney is not the answer. Whether women vote for him or not, he is a loser in the South. People, like me, will stay home. Bank on it, they have done it before and will do it again.

Mormons don’t serve in the military. Refuse to serve in the military. Let someone else do it.

I served 28 years in the military and knew many Mormons who served honorably. I'm no fan of Romney either, but how about not broad-brushing the whole group?

What makes you think Newt wouldn’t be as strong as Romney on National defense?

Not sure, but Gingrich won't beat Obama in November because of Gingrich's total lack of support from women.

This is why I refuse to waste time hoping that Gingrich tops Romney in the primaries.

Is 4 years of a wishy-washy Arnold-style Republican who enacts failed liberal policies followed by 4 years of a resurgent Obama sweeping the presidency in a Nixon-like comeback and retaking Congress what you want?

Conservative principles WORK. They get splendid economic results. The only way to win again in 4 years is to elect someone like Newt with his Laffer-endorsed Reaganesque economic plan.

Not to mention the possibility of Obama replacing two older USSC members in a second yerm. If one of those is a conservative, kiss the court goodbye for a quarter century.

What???????

I wasn’t aware of Drudge’s connection to the Romney team. But based on a review his coverage of Romney over the past few years, it seems clear that there is definitely collaboration between Drudge and the Romney team.

Interesting findings here:

Not true.

Many don’t, but there are those who do...I think their percentages are much less than the average demographic, but they do.

I was a mormon [now an ex-mo] and was in the military, knew and know a few as well.

Wrong. Presidential elections come down to who is the best COMMUNICATOR and who appears to be the STRONGEST LEADER. It has NOTHING to do with youth or looks. Romney loses to Obama on both those counts, if just barely on the leader front. Newt destroys Obama on both those counts.

I won't flame you but the only thing I take issue with is that he will govern left center. There's just no way to know and that's what sucks. If we base it on his track record and previous comments then you are correct but if we base it on his current comments then we have an alright nominee.

This is the problem with RINOs, we don't know what we get and that's the reason McCain was DOA, Conservatives didn't trust him.

Republican candidates don't win by focusing on the moderate Republicans and Dems. If they did, McCain was a shoe-in. Republicans win when the Republican base turns out. Every moderate Republican and Dem I know LOVED John McCain. They all voted for Obama.

If a more conservative Republican had been the nominee in 2008, he would have been beaten even more badly.

The idea that there's some sort of Republican base that never ever even bothers to vote unless the perfect "True Conservative" is running that EXCEEDS the size of the moderate/independent voter base is an absolute fantasy.
