All these wars seem popular enough with the folks at home when the troops are first sent off to fight. Problem is the public has no staying power and soon tires of supporting the war or the troops fighting it. Wars are purely political especially most of the recent ones. Our military does not choose when and where to fight- people we elect do that, so we need to be far more careful who we elect if the wars we fight are not popular with we the people.

Veteran’s Day has for the most part become a day of furniture sales, and folks enjoying a day off to do as they please. Very few use that day or any other to honor our Veterans.

I’ve been to many Veteran’s Day parades. As far as I know, no military family has ever shopped stores for Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day or 4th of July sales. They boycott them.
