That story about Bush and bar code scanners was a lie. He wasn’t impressed by bar code scanners...he was impressed by a new type of scanner that could read torn or damaged codes more accurately. The reporter who ran with it decided your version better fit the “Bush is out of touch” meme that they were using to get Clinto elected.

But hey...if you want to carry Newsweek’s water, who am I to judge...
