Offered the choice of a 12 month extension or no extension you think the Senate or Obama would profit by choosing no extension?

I don’t think they can say no. We won’t get everything in our bill but we’ll get more than is in the Senate bill.

The Republicans are getting killed on this issue. Of all the issues to stake out your position on, this is the absolute worst thing I can think of.

Obama is getting a big break on this and the Republicans are looking like Scrooge.

Way to make a economic point and at the same time lose the support of the majority of working people.

Political reality is a bitch.

If the dems don’t cave and the republicans stand their ground, the tax break goes away and the republicans get the blame for raising taxes. And I truly believe the dems would do it because they sure as hell don’t care about anything but campaign issues to get obama re-elected.

If the republicans cave and they pass a 60 day extension there’s no way the dems can come back and vote against a year. If they did, they’d be taking responsibility for the tax hike.
