We must draft, nominate and elect Sarah Palin president in the most crushing tidal wave of enthusiastic good judgment ever seen in the history of this nation. I’m not voting for Gingrich, and here’s why:
Did General George Washington ever surrender to the British armies?
Do you think that if he had that America would have survived?
Now, does the Tea Party surrender to RINOs?
Do you think that if it does that America will survive?

Everyone else has been found wanting and Kevin doesn't even have the guts to suggest an alternative.
I still believe Obama's going to win regardless of the patsy put forth next November, the GOP might as well go for Newt. It can be argued both he and Romney need to be kept on the reservation but Newt has fought, he has that in him, whereas Romney's no fighter.
This race did not draw out the kind of candidate I think we needed most.

The Churchill - Gingrich comparison has been discussed on prior threads. Several writers have noted the similarities of their journeys of early success and ignominious time spent in political exile.
The comparisons have not included their beginnings i.e. Churchill’s aristocracy, military adventures, Parliamentary victories vs. Gingrich’s modest childhood and professorial accomplishment which contrast strength of will and character.
Their life stories are both compelling for the perilous times in which they lived and how their countrymen looked to Churchill for inspiration and now to Newt for common sense and purpose.
I don't know how mystified I am about it but I am certainly disgusted.
Look at their accomplishments. Newt allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (together the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.
Romney, on the other hand, vehemently denied Ronald Reagan and aligned himself with Ted Kennedy and the left. Romney accomplished installing liberal big government programs, defended and promoted Roe v Wade and legalized abortion as “settled law,” advocated and implemented RomneyCare with its liberty killing government mandates against formerly free citizens and its taxpayer funded or subsidized and mandated abortion procedures. He ran and governed to the left of Ted Kennedy on the “gay agenda” resulting in gay marriage in Massachusetts. He appointed liberal judges and liberal appointees throughout his government. Under his “leadership” conservatism and the Republican party was all but destroyed in Massachusetts.
Romney is one evil liberal progressive. No way in hell will MittBots be allowed to support this abortionist, big government, socialist scumbag on FR!

I don't feel any need to compare him to Washington, Truman, William Wallace, Patton, Davy Crockett, or Obi-Wan Kenobi, as do the adherents of another one-time wouldbe candidate.
Getting tired of the journalists underestimating Gingrich. Americans are STARVED for an intelligent candidate. Newt remained cool last night despite the tough questions on marriage, infidelity, etc. He answered honestly.
Yes, Newt will beat Obama. Newt is the guy Coulter, Rove and Noonan never thought would get above single digit polling numbers; he lacked money, he had too much baggage; he lacked organization; evangelicals and Tea Party folks would not endorse him..what happened? he is SOARING. He is a little Churchillian...I think of the lady telling Churchill that he was drunk and Winston answered back..”madam I may be drunk but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly” or something to that effect...lol.
