SYDNEY (AP) — An Australian man has been sentenced to 500 lashes and a year in a Saudi Arabian jail after being convicted of blasphemy, officials said Wednesday.
The 45-year-old man, identified by family members as Mansor Almaribe of southern Victoria state, was detained in the holy city of Medina last month while making the Muslim pilgrimage of hajj. Family members told Australian media that Saudi officials accused him of insulting the companions of the Prophet Muhammad, a violation of Saudi Arabia's strict blasphemy laws.

It seems to me their prophet is a cult of sexual perversion with young girls. To speak against it is the lash. I guess you have to do something to keep their people in line with this garbage.

Would other “Western” Muslims care if one of them was beaten to death on his “hajj”? Saudi Arabia has a monopoly on this thing because every Muslim must attempt to go to Mecca once in his/her lifetime. Maybe Turkey will take back the Arabian peninsula?
This is a country we think is vital to our national security interersts.
“Immigrant”, not Australian. So many of these clowns go to other nations and try to corrupt their cultures by claiming to be one of them while actually being something else, just like the illegal aliens here claiming to just want a better life while waving the Mexican flag.

Nah, the person doing the lashing has to hold the Koran under his armpit along with the whip. If he drops it the sentence is completed. They don’t even keep count.
I knew of two who were beaten. The guy got 500 but they broke it up into two sessions. The gal got 250. His crime was sleeping with an illegal immigrant.
He was more embarrased than hurt because the beatings were held in the public square and some of his buddies saw it.
They are not as anal as the pic shows. They have mellowed out lately. They still cut off hands for stealing but it depends on which country the perpertrator is from.
They tend to deport most of the Westerners unless its a serious crime like murder.

Only read the headline..did not dig into the real story. I assumed the man being lashed was an Australian not a Muslim. Then saw the pic.
Now you say the guy being lashed is an immigrant to Australia.
A country cannot perpetuate itself unless its citizens are born from citizens.

In other words, he was a coward that fled his country and its culture but thought another country should accept his previous country’s culture. Just like the illegal aliens we have here. They son’t stay in their country and make it better, they simply want to milk our country instead. It is easier.
Australians far and wide need to witness the reality of Islam. Submission to a cruel dead religion administered by thugs. Smoke tolerance.
