Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty lashed out at President Obama and Democrats on Monday, faulting them for working to undermine former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney whom Pawlenty has endorsed for president even before Republicans have chosen a nominee.
"When you look at them trying to tear down Mitt Romney, coming from Barack Obama and the Democrats, it really is amazing," Pawlenty said on a conference call with reporters. "President Obama, when it comes to the economy, is essentially the Barney Fife of presidents."
Barney Fife, played by Don Knotts, was the bumbling, incompetent deputy sheriff on "The Andy Griffith Show," which aired in the 1960s.

"There is one candidate in this race who was the depth and scope of experience in the private sector, as a job creator, as a leader in business, to get this country turned around," Pawlenty said, "and that is Mitt Romney."

More like the Gríma Wormtongue of Presidents.
The obvious difference is that Barney meant no harm to anyone. Obama is trying to destroy an entire country/culture.
It’s cliche, but don’t insult Barney Fife please.
If anyone reminds me of Barney Fife it’s Pawlenty.
Obama isn’t even in the same universe.
Is there a pic of obama in Fife’s uniform?
More like the Adolph Hitler of presidents.
Barney didn’t know the Constitution either

I never thought that during my lifetime I might see a President worse than Carter, but Barry is proving me wrong.
Yeah, I wouldn’t go calling anyone else a “Barney Fife” if I were TPaw.
Barney Fife was a nice guy who cared about people. He was also funny and you enjoyed watching him. Obama can’t hold a candle to Deputy Fife.
He got beat up by Thelma Lou Bachmann but he seems mostly harmless.
I would say Obama is much more like Ernest T. Bass.
Maybe Jethro
“Who TF is this bari shabaaz guy anyway ange”?
LLS
Ha—I had forgotten about old Ernest!
And Nancy Pelosi is Otis.
And Barney Frank is Aunt Bea.
