Comingling Social Security funds pre-dates Newt’s speakership. He was using the rules as they were in place at the time. Doesn’t mean he can’t support changing them.
True, but he should not further the myth of a balanced budget (often referred to as a surplus), and if he is going to he sure shouldn’t be criticizing politicians for doing the same.
