DNC fights back: Obama never called Americans ‘lazy’ By Alicia M. Cohn - 11/17/11 09:55 AM ET

The Democratic National Committee pushed back in a new Web ad Thursday, a response to attacks by Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Perry over President Obama’s use of the word “lazy.”

According to an email from a DNC aide, the ad is designed to prove Romney and Perry are “being dishonest” about what Obama really said and the context in which he said it.

"Another gaffe. Another manipulation. Another attack we just can't believe," reads the ad's text.

"We've been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades," Obama said last weekend at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Hawaii. He was speaking to American CEOs about American businesses “tak[ing] for granted [that] people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America."

Obama also said, "There are a lot of things that make foreign investors see the U.S. as a great opportunity: our stability, our openness, our innovative free-market culture."

Romney’s campaign accused Obama of blaming Americans “for his own mishandling of the economy” in a press release after the event, and Romney attacked Obama's use of "lazy" in a speech the following week.

“Sometimes I just don’t think that President Obama understands America,” Romney said at a campaign stop in South Carolina. “He said that Americans are lazy. I don’t think that describes Americans.”

Perry’s response was even stronger, attacking Obama in a Web video that his campaign plans to air on national TV.

"Can you believe that? That's what our president thinks is wrong with America? That Americans are lazy? That's pathetic,” Perry says in the ad.

“Rick Perry and Mitt Romney apparently don’t think the president should encourage CEOs to promote the United States abroad in order to create American jobs and attract investment at home,” Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt said in response to the attacks.

Oh - cut the guy some slack - he was talking to his base;)

The Union bosses (who live off dues paid by workers), the welfare leeches who breed babies for bucks and the tax supported lobbyists who golf and graft.

I love the way they characterize quoting what he said is an “attack”.
Always make sure your response makes a not quit so subtle statement that you are the victim of an unjustified attack.

How lame.

Do you remember:

“It all depends on what the meaning of is is.”

It worked once so why can’t it work again?

Translation: Whoever the nominee, that sound bite should be the basis for an entire commercial showing Americans how Hussein speaks about the people of this country when he is abroad.

He stuck his fat foot in his big mouth, and it needs to be brought to everyone’s attention: the media sure as hell won’t report his hatred of America.

Translation: If Americans weren’t such bitter clingers acting stupidly, they would not have misunderstood Obama’s soaring oratory.

Good point. I believe Øbozo's line is "They're only words...." meaning he is free to interpret anything any way that suits him.

Many of us ARE lazy, but none more than Obama’s twenty-something supporters. And he is pandering to their laziness by forgiving their student loans, allowing them to leach on their parents for health insurance, repeatedly extending their unemployment benefits, etc..

Must’ve been cold on the golf course that morning. I know....I shouldn’t write stuff like that. I think that actress was actually modest.

This guy hasn't got a clue about creating jobs.It is just not part of his 'job plan' which by turn, serves his 'Diminished/Impoverished America' Agenda. Government in control. . .nothing more; nothing less. And it is working.

All the 'speech stuff' only meant to give sound bites to the Obama 'Useful Idiot' MSM.
