Germany, because of its central position, industry, and financial strength, has always been able to rule Europe, especially when the French cooperate with them. Better German democratic hegemony than Kaiser Bill’s or Hitler’s.

After 300+ years of England preventing the unification of the continent, no wonder AEP is a little peeved!
Not disputing your point just remarking on the historicness of England's change of attitude.
