That is actually a quote from a scientific paper, so I can’t take credit for it. In the study, scientists damaged the amygdalas of monkeys with a brain surgery, and then documented the effects. That is an actual quote from the paper, describing what they saw. For the cite, see:

Funny thing is Liberals have smaller amygdalas on MRIs, which would indicate a developmental failure of some sort, producing the same effect. Of course, it would be wrong to call a Lib defective, but.....
