Why don’t you get your facts straight. He was told by the grad student what happened. there was a report made against Sandusky earlier. Once could be explained away but twice establishes a pattern. he and everyone at that university did the bare minimum required not even bothering to find the identity of the child the grad student witnessed raped. Sandusky suddenly retired early, but “JoePa” had no idea...right? A guy rumored to replace him as coach up and leaves in middle age and what...Paterno never knew why? he never knew Sandusky was restricted from bringing children to campus? Give me an eternal break.
His story is that he asked Sandusky to consider whether he(S) wanted to devote his time to Second Mile or what was really important(College footsball). Paterna was either totally oblivious to what was going on or was in fact a key part of the cover-up which allow Sandusky to retire (with privileges).
